Supersuit shader question

Ok, so I've used the supersuit many times, and I've applied shaders to it with no problem. No all of a sudden, no matter which surface I select, the shader applies to the entire suit. I can't figure out how to get it back to letting me apply a shader to only the selected surface.
Any suggestions?

**edit: it seems to only be doing it with one set of shaders - the colors that came with the supersuit hero pack**

Control-click on the presets, then set it to apply only to the selected surfaces. Not ideal for shader presets, but it's a workaround.

I control-clicked, and it still applies the shader to the entire suit, not just the surface I selected. It still only does it with those specifiic shaders.

You are doing this in the surfaces tab and not just clicking in the scene and you are using the direct select tool?

Yes, with the surfaces tool, I click on the area of the supersuit I want to change, and then I double click on the shader. With those two specific shaders, it changes the entire suit. Any other shader, and it changes only the selected surface.

Control-clicking should bring up a dialogue box for any preset though, materials/shader/character/pose; that shouldn't be happening.

Trust me, you do need to be in the Surface Tab... not just clicking on the suit in the scene... If you click on the suit in the scene, the whole suit will change to that material. I you direct something and then go to the Surface tab, you will see that particular area highlighted in the Surface tab and your material setting will only apply to that area.

Nope, even if I go to the surfaces tab and select just the arms on the basic supersuit, when I apply either of those specific shaders, the shader applies to the whole suit.
