Install Manager

I finally started to get the hang of posing and lighting and did one or two good renders so I though I'd buy some hair and a troll. Then I was confronted with a new content manager. I uninstalled all my content like it said, re-downloaded all my content along with the new hair and the troll. I think all my old content loads into the scene OK but when I try to load the hair and the troll I get a box that says NO IMPORTER FOR THE FILE FORMAT CAN BE FOUND. Am I doing something wrong and if so can anybody put me right? I just feel as though I paid my money and got nothing for it ( I feel so sad) Please please help....

You using DS4.0 ? only DS4.5 supports the new .duf format of files.
That error message only comes up when you are using an earlier version of DAZ Studio, what version are you running? Go to Help > About DAZ Studio, and post the EXACT version number.
In the DIM (DAZ Install Manager) you can decide what programs you can download for, and you may be just downloading everything.
Look at the image below, select the little gear icon, and select only the files that you need.
You may need to upgrade your version of DS4 if you want to use some of these.
Hi Yall, I have just got DAZ 4.5 in my downloadable files. Do I have to uninstall the old version first before installing DS4.5
No, the new DS4.5 installer will do that for you.
You can't have two copies of DS4 or DS4.5 on the same computer'
Make sure you also install Genesis Starter Essentials
Well I installed DAZ 4.5 and Genesis Starter Essentials and I still have a problem when trying to load my new content.
A box appears headed “Missing Files” Some assets needed to load the file were missing. The content may not work as expected. The following files could not be found:
/data/3DrM/GregoriaHair/GregoriaHairGenesis/GregoriaHair.dsf
The same thing happens when I try to load the Troll
You may have installed the content inot two different places.
If you used the Install manager, it puts the content by default into C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library, and not into the old place in Documents/Studio/My Library.
You must also make sure that the installed content is listed as both DAZ Studio and Poser Formats in the Content Manager.
Thanks for all your help; I think I have fixed it. From the contents tab I searched the hard drive for files and it spat a few out at me so I clicked accept and Walla a Troll appeared (not as good looking as me) but he made me happy. Once again you guys thanks for all your help...
