Looking for pop corn

I already have a really good bowl of popcorn prop.  What I am looking for is a Jiffy Pop or microwave popcorn prop.  I know it's a longshot but I thought I would ask.

  • I have tried looking for this as well and I am very surprised there is not much on the web regarding a 3D microwave popcorn prop. I did, however, find this website below that has some props but unfornately they are charging a price for them.

Also, keep checking sites like Renderosity and ShareCG to see if anyone has uploaded one to their free section.

I wish I could have helped more!  :-)  Good luck!!

Not sure what you mean exactly, but by Jiffy Pop do you mean just the foil tray and handle and the big foil bag full of popcorn? Cuz if that's all you need you can knock that out in a modelling app very quickly.

And if you want actual popcorn bits you can use something like Blender particles. Just make a few individual popcorn kernels and use particles to duplicate them real quick.

Here's a very quick 20 minute Blender model of a Jiffy Pop thingy.

Start with a cylinder, remove one end cap face, scale and extrude to the correct shape, then add a sphere, delete the bottom 1/3, scale it and fit it on the bottom tray, then Join the two. UV and you're done.

I stole a tin foil texture off the web and used it for the bump map.

That's exactly what I'm looking for!  I don't know anything about blender.  Can it be converted to Daz?

@areg5  -  I quickly had a look at Sketchup Warehouse where I get lots of models.  Only thing is you must have SketchUp installed to open the models since it's in that format, then you can export it as .obj format, and others.  Search for 'popcorn' and you will see some models including vending machines.

Some popcorn and bag at http://www.sharecg.com/v/56482/browse/11/Poser/Popcorn
