Did Install Manager just eat my content?

I just used Install Manager to load a newly acquired item and all of my smart content disappeared!

The product was My Lin by Rebelmommy, a current Fast Grab offer, which, I now notice, is sent as a Zip file. Once it was loaded by Install manager, all of the smart content I've previously loaded went away. The smart content toolbox is empty and the search function gives me red "X" arrow as soon as I type one character.

The category and product databases are also both empty. I can still access what was installed by earlier editions of Studio, but it looks like anything added in the past couple of months since my last upgrade has gone away.

Any suggestions?

It has probably nothing to do with the DIM, it sounds like your CMS has stopped running. Check in Task Manger to see if it is a running process, if not, go to Start > All Programs > DAZ 3D and restart it from there.

I'm not sure if this is what happened to you, but at one point the entire contents of my runtime was copied into the Smanual folder inside of my Poser Pro 2012 Content folder. I would recommend you go into your content folder and see if the data has been copied into another folder. Also, check to make sure you don't now have a Poser Pro 2012 Content6 folder, which happened on another system I have.

The problem cleared up when I rebooted my PC and restarted DAZ studio! The smart content database reappeared and is functioning. Just restarting Studio 4.5 was not enough, but the completed system reboot worked.

When Categories and Products are not functioning, and the Smart Content does not have anything in it, then it is the CMS which has stopped running. A simple way to check, is to see if the Products and Categories have a little triangle opposite them, if so, then CMS is running
