Okay,

So when you are rendering layers, it's a good idea to render your background first and use that as a backdrop.

I originally believed 3Delight Stand Alone did not read DAZ Studio Created RIB files with backdrops (because of whatever...)

I WUZ WROOOONG!

It does render.

The reason I could not see it, is because the TIF created by 3Delight has an alpha channel.

I removed the Alpha Channel in XNView, which on the IMAGE Pulldown: image/remove alpha channel

So, when rendering in 3Delight Stand Alone, YOU CAN use your backdrop!

Special Thanks to RIB Guru Jasonbelec for his help in figuring this out (like I should have bloody well known...)

3Delight can save in other than tif formats...if you save the file as a jpg, the background will show, too.

What is the difference between Renders in DAZ Studio with 3Delight and 3Delight Stand Alone?

Renders more realistic for the second?

LuxRender is the most powerful for this?

I don't think LuxRender is so poweful as 3Delight... that's an opinion. But I think we've only scratched the 3DL surface.

What the stand alone does is free up DS. Or, you can render on a different machine. The results will be the same and in some cases, faster.
