I can't seem to solve this problem when setting up the path to LuxRender (Luxus for Daz3D 4.5) errow window pops up,it shows:
"LuxRender application not found, click OK to setup path to LuxRender folder"
I loaded ALL in the default folders, read the PDF for Luxus, still won't find it. I tried every folder pertaining to Daz3D and anything that had Luxus, LuxRender in Win 7 search. Any suggestions?

Win 7 64
Daz3D 4.5 (32bit)
Luxus (32 bit)

Have you installed LuxRender itself ? Luxus is the plugin that sends your Daz scene to the LuxRender renderer.
    It's a separate download and install. Link : http://www.luxrender.net/en_GB/standalone#windows

Luxus is an interface between DAZ Studio and the Lux render engine. You need to go to http://www.luxrender.net/en_GB/download and download the 32-bit windows installer for Lux. Then you can point the Luxus plugin to the directory where you installed Lux. There's a pdf linked from the store page for Luxus that covers this.

And the pdf can be found part way down this page.

sighs... Is there any reason why they don't specify this on the page where you buy Luxus in Daz3d store?? Just a thought...
Now to clarify, I download WINDOWS LuxRender, correct? The Daz3D plugin page is empty.

Windows LuxRender, 32-bit no openCL installer.

ETA: you've already got one of the DAZ plugins - Luxus. The other is Reality.

Yes - the plugin one is for Reality only.

    DL the "Windows" version.
Then install it to wherever you desire I put it on the same drive as Daz Studio)
When you go to render - go to advanced and point to the location of LuxRender.

    From the Product Page,

Luxus allows you to render a DAZ Studio scene to an image using LuxRender. Luxus will automatically translate your scene to LuxRender, or you can control the translation by adding parameters specific to LuxRender in your DAZ Studio scene.

LuxRender is an unbiased render engine based on what light does in real life. Images generated are defined by a simulation of the laws of physics.

If you didn't know what Luxrender meant, then you know now. It takes time to find out all of these things, but if you are not sure, ask, that is what the New Users Forum is for.

The OP mentioned they have Windows 7 64-bit installed. Installing the 32-bit version of LuxRender will be severely crippled, as LuxRender tends to use a lot of memory and the 32-bit version can only address 2GB of RAM.

Ah thank you guys for the fast reply's. And yes, little new to Luxrender, so this clears it up :)

One question someone, Namffuak, posted above to use the "no openCL version" , I have a GTX 470 that I believe is OpenCL capable, so why not use the OpenCL version?

OP said they were running DS 4.5 32 bit but Windows 7 64 allows 32 bit apps to automatically use 4 GB RAM without switch as long as it's not Windows 7 Starter.
But if you can take advantage of 64 bit on that box (i.e. you have more than 4 GB RAM) then your kicking yourself sticking to 32 bit.

Running the 64bit version of DAZ Studio along with the 64bit LuxRender and the appropriate plugin is highly recommended

I'm having a similar problem. I have installed both Luxus 64-Bit and LuxRender 64-Bit. However, every time I try and access LuxRender in the Advanced Render tab, DAZ Studio shows no sign of the Path to LuxRender. I've browsed the various folders, and still, there is no sign of it.

Can anybody give me any advice on how to resolve this situation?

Where did you install Luxrender to?

I installed mine to C:\Luxrender\LuxRender_64_OpenCL\luxrender.exe, but you can install it anywhere you like. Do a search on your machine for 'Luxrender.exe' without the quotes, and when you find it, take a note of where it is installed to, and enter that in the Luxus tab.

Got it! When I went to the LuxRender folder, it started working perfectly!

Thank you, I really do appreciate it. When I went to that folder initially and didn't see anything but more folders, I thought for sure that I had done something wrong.

Yes the luxrender.exe will not visually show when browsing to the installation folder when setting the path in Daz Studio. ;) It fooled me all of ten seconds.

Ok. My Daz is set up as F:/Daz 4
Where should I put LuxRender? Does it go into Daz or by it's self?

What do you mean, Program files. I keep mine on external hard drive. Would I put it there?

Well put it anywhere you want then. :)

Program File is that main directory where most programs get installed to on a Windows based OS machine btw.

Put it anywhere you want, even an external HDD, create a folder called :Luxrender or similar, and install it there.

You have to tell Luxus where the Luxrender.exe is stored, otherwise it can't use it.

I haven't used any of these mat presets so I suggest you ask in the main Luxus thread http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/18543/
