I think my low-spec computer would probably curl up and die if I tried introducing it to this, but it's absolutely beautiful. Nice one!

Make sure you keep an eye out for the giveaway!  Going to give one of these away for free!

Could you possibly offer something for those of us who don't use Facebook?

Yeah - I gave up Facebook a few years ago

    Sold!

Out of curiosity, will this just be for Iray or is a 3DL version included?

Iray only, largely due to the ability to tile textures asymmetrically and the way emissive surfaces work.  For instance, the texture of the hardwood floor is tiled ~15 times and the roughness map is tiled once.  No real way to do that in 3DL and not end up with blurry floorboards or yet another 4k texture.

To everyone else, thanks for the kind words!  I'm glad everyone seems to like it!

Bummer as right now I can only do 3Delight renders which is due to having a 32 bit computer.   I would love to have it but it will depend on the cost.

  • Silly question - does it come with state of the art Fridge and Stove?  I see a dishwasher, but also an empty space where presumably a fridge should be.

There are no silly questions, silly!  The dishwasher is really just a facade so there wasn't a hole in the middle of the cabinets.  I hadn't planned on doing any of the appliances at all, but it looked kind of weird and toothless without that one.  It does not include the fridge or stove, but the spaces allowed for them match standard specifications.

I get most of my traffic through the Facebook page and have not had good responses to giveaways here on the forum.  Things get buried too fast.  It is easy enough, however, to make a "fake" Facebook account with no real personal information.

Heh - I guess I'd better head on over to Lowes or Home Depot and see what state of the art appliances will go with my new mansion!  Any idea when DAZ will roll out this product?

No clue.  Out of my hands now.

Hi, I just bought the product, and I really do love the promo pics, but is that 20GB texture use for real, or is my installation somehow damaged. I mean, I'm sure every PA knows what current customer grade graphics are capable of, and as far as I know, 12 GB is still our limit. I love the idea that every wall can be hidden, but that makes same textures loaded over and over again. Is there a chance you could make a version that could be rendered in GPU mode. I can resize 4k door hinge normal maps and stuff like that myself when needed, but I'm not really interested to move every floor to Blender, then merge all the meshes and material zones to make this set usable in GPU mode. I really do love the set, but in it's current state I can't use it, unless I do tons of manual work myself.

PS: At least I think a warning in the product page is in order, when set can't be rendered in any consumer grade graphics cards.

I don't have a discrete video card but instead CPU render having an Intel HD Graphics 3000 (which is only 2nd Gen despite it's 3rd Gen sounding 3000 name) and have 16GB of RAM of which about 3GB RAM is used by Windows and resident services and open apps typically.

It is a gorgeous scene indoors & out even just in preview mode in the viewport with oak & maple and I don't know what other plants. Like the Harpwood Trails and a couple of other heavy duty modeled scenes it does lag to navigate in the DAZ Studio viewport so to make that part earier I make the model not selectable by checking the checkmark in the Scene tab and then navigate using the DS keyboard shortcuts instead of the mouse.

I am doing my 1st render of the scene at 4K square size and DS is at 12GB usage. If DS or any app exceeds much more than 13GB on my 16GB computer Windows 10 will halt the app as having too near the potential to crash Windows 10. As it is, doing renders is the about the only activity that can still produce a blue screen panic on Windows for me any more although even those are very infrequent at less than a half dozen in a half dozen years.

Once the scene gets 'built for render' (just before it does the 1st write to canvas) by D|S the RAM usage drops from 11GB - 13GB down to 3GB - 5GB and so the 'danger' part of the rendering process is past (unless I do something forgetful and dumb like open a huge scene in Unity 3D to take all the RAM).

I will try and add 2 character models after this has gone for about 100 iterations and see what that pushes the RAM total to. If that pushes it too high then I will have to composite. These nice sets are pushing me to buy a new computer so I can upgrade to 32GB RAM.

Thanks very much for making this product.

Yeah, I was startled at the memory use. I did switch from Speed to Memory in the Render-Settings, and >.> I also ran the Scene Optimizer.

(Also, I noticed some instances like some toilet plumbing are in the wrong Floor Group, which is mildly inconvenient when it comes to turning off everything except the room you're rendering and that room has a door open to say the bathroom....)
