Dual Lobe feature

I haven't seen any posts/discussions about this new feature. Wondering if people like it, use it or find it a better option. Seems you can't use the dual lobe and Glossy features at the same time.

It seems like the dual lobe thing is geared for skin, though it works with any surface. When you turn it on, you get a few more dials to go with it. They can be tweaked to get that natural oily skin look.

It seems to do a lot of what people were normally doing Glossy + Top Coat, though I guess it's easier because the values are more similar?

Could probably use it for extra wet skin. Say you max out glossy and need a bit more. Dual lobe to the rescue.

  • Stumbled across the following, recently posted tutorial on "Dual Lobe" a couple of days ago.

Worth a watch ... if only for some examples of what can be done -- in this case, mostly for oily/shiny skin.

That tutorial really helped...thanks!  Here's my results so far... DL seems really good for getting that satiny sort of shine.  I just dialed back the glossy.
