The state of brassieres (a.k.a. normal modern bras)

I was flipping through my content looking for a standard everyday bra (worn by modern civilian women or girls) and it seemed to me that I didn't have much that was plausible. Is that just me? It seemed like everything was lingerie or fantasy/scifi. Or maybe I have got myself so twisted (being a filthy male) that I can't even see a perfectly normal bra without rolling my eyes at the overt sensuality.

I even went in the store here, and Rendo and RDNA, and searched for "BRA," thinking maybe the stuff was out there but I had just never chosen to buy it. I don't think that's the case though...

You guys have any preferred mundane bras?

Which generation? Hongyu has several good ones for V3/V4, and Sickleyield has a good ladies underwear set for Genesis. There's also Wilmap's lacy underwear for Genesis, which can probably (I don't actually have it) be de-sexied if used without lace shaders.

All of them have made bras that I would own myself, if I didn't think underwires were evil (and I wasn't small enough to get away with bras that don't use underwires.) Though you may need to look at some of the material options.

P.S. Lingerie is just a fancy term used for ladies underwear/night clothes. it doesn't have to be the sexy lacy stuff. (The ladies' underwear department at most stores is called the lingerie department, and I believe Victoria's Secret markets itself as a Lingerie shop, and that's where I buy my plain, unlacy, not particularly sexy bras.)

I'm exclusively Genesis but the autoconversion from V4 etc seems just fine. I'll check out those vendors with your comment in mind, thanks.

Hongyu and Sickleyield are both over at Rendo, of course. Wilmap's set is a freebie over on ShareCG

    V4 has the basicwear

that looks pretty normal to me.

The Sports Bra is fairly normal. But the Bikini top is just that... swim-wear, not underwear. I certainly wouldn't want to wear a bra with a metal ring in the middle all day at the office. There are women who would, to be sure, but if Tzorg is looking for "normal, non-sexy" stuff, then this is out.

It's usable in a pinch, if you don't have anything else though.

That style does look pretty reasonable.

"End of Innocence Rose" does look pretty normal. I feel like i've never seen that before for some reason.

    That's much more wearable.

Really, what makes bra's sexy is the pose the model is in and the material the bra is made of, more than the style of bra itself. If you take away the lace and make the bra solid, most bras are very practical in style.

What the heck does that mean, LOL.
I think I know what you are going for, but that wording makes it sound like everyone other than fetish, hooker, dancer types wear ugly 50's type bras like my Mom wears, LOL (Luckily my GF doesn't own any of those)

There is a fairly normal one in this set
    http://illusions-designs.net/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=108_126&products_id=398
made for V4, but with the smoothing modifier, it works great for me on genesis.

The ones at illusions designs are, in my opinion, perfectly normal. :) I wouldn't wear them that sheer/lacy, but then I'm, er, sensitive in that area and even the softest lace gets uncomfortable quickly. :red: Toss a cotton jersey or satin shader on them, and they'd look like any bra I'd buy.

Yeah I do find those pretty normal looking.

Sheer/lacy is out I think, strikes me as provocative, but the geometry is the important thing.

    Thanks

It would be nice if there was a 'breasts in bra' morph for Genesis, so that when clothing is fitted they look more contained like they do when a woman is wearing a bra.

Well, I bought the "Glute and Breast Movement" thing and I liked the effect of the morphs called (I think) "LeftUpDown2" and "RightUpDown2."

I should just try throwing the "natural" morph in reverse though...

Between using Natural at negatives, small amounts of cleavage, and the pectoral "bones", you can come pretty close, depending upon the clothing in question.

Unlike DaWaterRat, I personally go for bras that are engineered like this: http://files.joshmadison.net/20090801-0681-940px-brooklyn-bridge.jpg :)

Virtually, Marietta Silk Lingerie by Hongu might be the right look: http://www.daz3d.com/marietta-silk-lingerie. Maiden Lingerie II might work if you make the fu-fu floaty bits invisible, as it shows in some promos: http://www.daz3d.com/maiden-lingerie-ii

For a lighter cotton tee-shirt bra style, Mindvision's end-of-innocence rose looks nice: http://www.daz3d.com/end-of-innocence-rose

My old standby is BatLab's ordinary lingerie for A3, which has survived many washings and is only a little bit stretched ;) I think that's still available at Rendo but I'm not sure....

There's also Redviper's Cheap Lingerie for A4 at ShareCG: http://www.sharecg.com/v/63184/gallery/11/Poser/The-Cheap-Lingeries-for-A4

A few comments report problems in DS, but I just rendered it in DS3 and had no problems with the panties doing anything odd.

OH yes, still very much available. Here in the UK catalogues such as Ambrose Wilson and Very, shops including Debenhams, also available from Amazon.co.uk.

Heh, kinda funny I ran into exactly this problem just a few days ago. Reacted by throwing pretty much Hongyu's entire catalogue both here and at Rendo into my cart and waiting for a sale :D

However, that illusions-design site has some interesting stuff, too. I am actually quite surprised I'm seeing this site for the first time today :O

The Genesis Bikini top kind of looks like a bra doesn't it?

Yes, the Genesis Bikini top would work fine as a bra, in my opinion. :)
