Saving G3F with male morphs (through transfer utility) as character preset?

I'm trying to make my G3F a little funkier by using G3M Morpheus morphs on it. It worked out great actually using the transfer utility, but when I was trying to save it as a character preset, I got an error: "you must save figure support assets before...". OK, not the end of the world, there's Google and I found out all I had to do was go into: File > Save As > Support Asset > Figure Support Assets... and done.

But when I saved the character preset after that it took a whole lot of time - it seemed a copy of every single morph (not only the newly added morpheus ones) were saved as a separate instance and the preset appeared with the text "wardrobe" in the library, not "actor" like my other presets. And when I later installed an "abs" mod from sharecg, it wouldn't appear under parameters for the preset.

Is it possible to save a G3F with G3M morphs as a character presets without this meaning you won't be able to use any morphs you install at a later date?

delete once your new saved (copied everything ) clone figure. without you hope to keep it (yes I have experienced it before,,)

then ,,you transfer morphs, then now it is in  parameter tab.. but   after that you need to save the new parameter as morph(dsf).

then the morph data are correclty saved as new porperty for G3F.

with out it you can not  save new preset which used the morph (call as moprh, or parameter or property,,)

  • Hi kitakoredaz, thanks for the help!

But I saved all the morphs ( File > Save As > Support Asset > Morph Asset(s) ) (I was lazy and saved everything under actor, since chasing down the 20 different ones in the dialogue box was a little overwhelming) and I still get the g the transfer utility, but when I was trying to save it as a character preset, I got the same error as before: "You must save figure support assets before you can save a character preset."

I am really lazy man, I can proud it, but anyway, please follow one by one and confirm, actually what you try is not so complex thing, just need to keep clear order.

plsease once delete saved figure files, which you duplicate and saved  before,, actually it cause things more complex I feel.  I think you need to delete your saved duf (preset) and duplicate figure dsf in data. (in your set name, when you save clone figure)

if you do not clear , which files are geearted and where it will be located,  please serch daz doucment, how to save as figure,,   untill you know where files are saved in ds directory, not recommend to save as any figure.  then start again from clean library.

    1. load deafult G3F, and G3M, (not your saved figure before,, but daz offer base figures which loaded by genesis3base female.duf )

use TU then transfer muscle morphs which you needs from G3M to G3F, (so you are lazy as same as me, then may be plan to  transfer all muslce morphs at once?  but I recommend, untill go forward, just test one or two morph first,,  ^^;,then after confirm it work for you,  let transfer more morphs at once,,

2  now in ds , when you select G3F you can see  morphs which tarnsfered from G3M , then only save them from top menu, select them only. because, if you save many morphs, which already G3F have, it may cause, duplicate morph problem easy. ds auto apply file name for morph from parameter, then we need to set directory, by vendor name, and product name.   but if there are same morph name files, it cause duplicate erroer..

3 so now we save new morphs (it is transfered from G3m)  for genesis3female.

4 load default genesis3female again. then confirm,, you can find those morphs. if there are already morphs, you can save character, or shape preset, which use those morphs.  if it not work, please show SS how you save them. but about your log,

You must save figure support assets before you can save a character preset, means, you save morph not for base genesis3female, I do not know, if you use another figure which you saved before, then transfer morphs.

And,, I know there are quite a few user, who try to save new figure, which morphed from base figure, and cusotmize,,  but think daz figures compatilibility,,

actually we need not, withou you export it to another aprication, or use for game character.

daz figure can be morphed more flexible, than another 3d model. so that we have many character, (eg muscle type, or anime type etc) from one base figuer. actually we need only one base figure for each generation.(or female and male)  if you hope to keep muscle type G3F, you need not make new G3F copy figure, but only need to make moprh, then save them for default G3f new morph.. that means, all character (V7 or meirin or Aiko7 or, my_perfect_shape9,, manshape_G3F , musulinG3F etc,,) are actuall one figure. genesis3female can lifted as she like, when user hope so, if there are morphs. then we save each lifted shape as new character. not new figure.

I think, many complex thing may happen, if user try to save new copy figure from base figure,(I know, because we usually save figure, in many aprication, not plan many shape with one base figure.,,,we do not plan perfectly different actor from same base figure, which we saved in another parication,,but about daz figure, (poser figure),or make human, or some aprication offer those compatible figure, then we simple morph them from one base figure. so that, wthiout we plan to mane new rig figure, with new weight map, we need not save new figure, I believe)

Thanks kitakoredaz. I want to say I really appreciate you taking your time to help me out, though I have a hard time following what you say because of your English (no offense, of course).

Turns out the only thing that was screwing things up for me was that I was saving the morphs in "My Daz Connect Library" (the default option) rather than "Daz 3D library". Go figure.
