Tara 2 - Ahhh Why does she have to be a demon?

She's SO DETAILED! I want that character SO BAD ...but she's got all this demon stuff that comes with her. Ugh. I have never bought demon stuff and I can't have any of that in my runtime. This is a huge disappointment, as I love the "human" character a LOT. She's a REALLY amazing looking character. I just wish the demon bits had been packaged as an add-on that one could purchase separately. :( Ah well, I've bought from Kayleyss before and couldn't be happier with their highly detailed incredible characters. I'm a big fan of their work. So I guess I'll just have to wait for next one. Anxiously awaiting their first Non-Demon G8F.

Huh? I'm not sure I get what you mean. I wasn't saying something like "wow, so many demons for G8F". I'm just a huge fan of Kayleyss characters and have been really looking forward to seeing what they'd do with Genesis 8 and seeing their first G8F character since G8F's launch. (Since my favorite ever character is a Kayleyss character.) So I was just disappointed to see that it was a demon and I'll have to wait quite a bit longer before getting a G8F character from them.

Again, I love their work, just wish it wasn't a demon. All that demon stuff added in also makes the price pretty high (nearly $30 base price). So having the demon stuff as an add-on that's sold separately (just guessing of course) might increase the number of sales for the character. I'm not sure how many people are interested in buying demons and might pass on the character because of the price. It's nearly $10 more than the price of their other characters and it might feel like they're paying $10 for demon bits that they're not interested in using. Again, just a guess. And again, it's just a personal preference and expressing my disappointment in something I was really looking forward to. She's a great looking character though. I'll just have to wait for the next one - assuming that there will be one. Which, I do hope so! :)

  • I guess with the horns and everything it's a bit more work so the price goes up doing full skin stuff takes some time. I never touch it unless I doing a monster or something. They certainly have some talent !!!

I appreciate that you've no interest in the demon add-ons, but for me personally, that's what makes this character stand out. The detail is absolutely fantastic, and with everything that's included, the intro price seems like a bargain to me. It's like getting a character (two characters really), HD details and a bunch of creature creator add-ons that will also work on the guys. I rarely render demons, and red skin doesn't really appeal to me visually, but still I'm tempted by the quality and value in this.

As 3D representations of pretend demons go, this one seems mostly harmless; displaying comic modesty during ludicrous comedy clothing mishap clichés. It is a monster from the depths of Benny Hill.

    Deemed: safe.

Not sure i understand the issue other than maybe the price. She comes as a normal figure also, so just don't ever use the demon part.

  •  with a little tinkering she could become Lady Demon, the alternate version of Lady Death when Lucifer tricked her again turning her more demonic before the split of personalities into two seperate entities and then there's  Purgatori the demon vampire Lady Death tangled with a lot

I wish somebody would explain to me the overwhelming fascination with what I call the "evil dark medieval Princess Leia sword-carrying dragon-and-demon-fighting unicorn" worlds that seem so incredibly popular. With all the possible environments and cultures and occupations and so on in this world, it seems like an extremely narrow focus that is so popular. My apologies, apparently I am WAY out of the mainstream when it comes to stuff like this.

Personally I tend to look for scenes/renders that are happy and beautiful and relaxing, but I guess most people go for dark and evil and death-type stuff. Same goes for most video games apparently, which are all about shoot-em-up and mass destruction for no reason.

Anyway, I think if I see one more Princess Leia type outfit on a G3/G8 carrying a sword to fight dragons I'll go nuts... smiley

You could always manually delete the parts you don't want or need from your runtime and Genesis folders. I'm just disappointed there's no discount for owners of the first Tara/Sachra.

This...  Many promo images show her without the demon bits.

Install, then simply don't use the demon bits, or delete them from the runtime if you really want to.

I think the increased price for something she does not intend to use is the issue.

I'm with Redz on this, I don't want more of the same (vanilla characters); so anything that offers something different, I am interested in.

I have the bundle for G3F, and have never used the horns, but liked what it offered; I bought it because it was something different for my runtime.

... Not sure I'll get this, but the wings are appealing.

I'm not crazy about demons, zombies, and monsters myself so I understand what diva is talking about. Perhaps if this was a bundle where you could get the Tara character without the evil parts it would be more appealing to the non-demon lovers like us. I tend to do pin up and portrait renders of beautiful model types that is my preference. I enjoy seeing the fantasy renders that others are doing as well as the "regular" people  Unlike diva, I don't mind getting this character even though I may not use the demon bits because I like that it is HD and for V7 as well.

The set might be more expansive than their other G3 characters, but keep in mind it also includes both a G3F and a G8F version of the character...

Side-by-side of V7 and V8 makes me realise that V8 has even more artificially elongated legs. One more fashion doll without usability for me. And I'm with diva. No use for another demon, even if the character itself looks good. Besides the only demon I ever needed to render (for a book cover) was male.

I am not religious but some people are and are genuinely bothered by representations of the demonic even if they are fictional.

I have bought Demon characters in the past but discovered I don't use them...  I render sci-fi and unless I can make it look alien it really isn't much use to me. Although demonic looking aliens make sense. I am not particularly interested in demons per se and red skin is rather cliche.

I do think if one is bothered for whatever reason by the content deleting the offending textures and parts from the installer might be a compromise.

I do not see demons and the devil as a horned being so not a big issue for me in spite of being a Christian, its more a mythological thing borrowed from fertility rites of various cultures that was later appropriated for devilish imagery and as such actually used a lot in religious artworks rather than shunned.

I would simply not use it to depict a demon if it were a problem rather kitbash bits with other characters like the horns on an animalistic morph or alien if you did not want to leave them unused.

I think she looks great. So far, she's the only character that I've liked for Genesis 8 Female. Obvioulsy it's more expensive because there's no Sachra this time.

For me, I love characters like this because I love "dark" stuff/content.

I just wish there was a discount for her, seeing that I bought the Birth of the Wicked Bundle for G3F.

A great product! Although I don't really care for the demon stuff either, I still got it anyways. It is HD, comes with plenty of makeup and tattoo options, V7/V8 figures, and a gorgious look! Good work on this. I wish I knew what lights were used in the promos, I would like to get those as well.

that comparison promo is actually making me want to install G8 even more now and pick this up (even thought I don't have much need of demons either)

I put her on my wishlist for now. I have Anneka, which I like very much. She translates well to G8. I've also got Gwennili. One of my favorite characters. Don't really need many more characters at the moment, but this one does look pretty good.

I do enjoy rendering heavenly and not-so-heavenly beings, as well as everything in between. Fantasy, mythology, religious, love it all.

The Character is amazing, with all those complete options, I miss a no-eyebrows make-up. The character worth its price, with the release offer more. A sure hit.

I kind of like her, but she's rather pricey and she seems a bit redundant in my runtime, after getting Anneka, Demonara, Tara 1 etc, so I'm still on the fence with her.

For me the wings, horns, and tail are better than DO for G3F and G3M so probably Tara 2 its a good complement if you catch with that 30% off

Yeah, just don't use the demonic parts. She's a typical Victoria-alike without them, if that's what you want for rendering.

I personally was tempted to get her, because of the unusual and interesting morphing entwinement of the horns, but then noticed that glaring blemish under her left eye. Gah... I need to be able to use a character, especially with unique creature-related stuff, to be doubled or tripled in a scene. I can usually put some shaping morphs to make them seem like different characters, except with a familial resemblance to one another, that way. Asymmetrical details, like facial blemishes, make that completely impossible. For supernatual creatures, it's especially required, since I might also need to give them an air of superficial 'perfection'.

Yes, the blemish isn't too noticeable for far away shots, but I need the contingency for close-ups, personally.

  • Im a young 24 year old Christian and I dont have a problem with it either, would I use it in like a promo materials for a church, heck no but I still think its pretty cool
