Massive Summer Clearance suddenly stopped working?

KaribouKaribou Posts: 1,325

I was filling my cart with "summer clearance" items and the discount suddenly stopped working.  I did the whole, clear the cart, clear the cache, log out, log in, etc., etc. thing and it still isn't working.  Is it just me?  I'm gonna file a ticket if it doesn't resolve.

You probably exceeded the 5/10/15 item limit for the Daz Original items.

It's working for me - make sure you're not over the limit for the number of discounted items

Ah!  Yup, that's it!  Thank you!

Why is this? I mean, to not give a discount on any items besides the first fifteen I can understand, sort of,
but to remove the discount from every item in the cart if there's more than fifteen makes no sense.

Oh, right - it makes DAZ sense! (a weird way of thinking from another space-time reality)

I'm still trying to figure out why old products keep popping up as "new arrivals". Like the BackYard Retreat which was released a year ago.

It's easier to tell people* they are over limit than to have people frustrated some items don't have a discount (or have people buy and realize they didn't have a discount later). Since I don't think you can change the item order of your cart without adding an removing items, it makes it a challenge.

On the "New Arrivals" thing, it looked like the previous category was sorting by popular even though it said new. That was throwing me off a lot too, I had to change the URL to sort by new.

*I realize there is no message saying what the issue is, so I guess I meant more that it is obvious the discount isn't applying.

Becuase it's now available to PC members (at PC pricing) so marking it as new helps visibility of the item.

So changing the price makes it a "new arrival"? I suppose there is some (commercial) logic to it. Like selling my 74 Volkswagen Beetle as "new" for $100 LOL.

It's a "New Arrival" to the pool of PC+ items. Immensely helpful for PC members when they sort the products and the NEW ones pop up at the top of the list.

Also, when looking for new items, the green tab/icon helps it to stand out - great when I'm looking to add a 'new' item to the cart to qualify foe a sale's discount quota of items..

And yes, I'd put a NEW (to the lot) sticker on your car when I added it to my used car inventory.
