Is there a tool yet than an iray to 3delight converter? Because I'd pay good money for it.

Nothing completely converting as far as i know. The reflective radiance from Marshian has some aiding shaders in converting iray materials to 3delight but in the end there will always be some manual work necessary to make it pop the way you want it.

Though I havn't tried to use the skript mentioned above.

The script is great. ;) (And yes, I helped test it)

    The big limitations:

It won't work with specialty Iray shaders, you have to convert them to Iray base shader. (This isn't a huge deal, because there aren't very many specialty shaders for Iray)

Emissive surfaces and refraction will require extra work. Part of that is the fact that there are LOADS of different ways to handle both in 3DL, so... choose a method and tweak. (Glass as lower opacity, glass as refraction, which base shader, emission as meshlights, emission as ambient channel, ...)

For metals, you might want to play around with reflection (I like to do metals in 3DL with UberSurface and Raytraced reflections, but you may want to do something else)

But the big thing is that the script will get stuff turned into decent 3dl versions without much work, and you can take it from there. The biggest problem with not using the script would be that opacity maps vanish, which, if you have like 50 surfaces, is a real pain in the patootie.
