Getting started rigging/morphing, or ...?

I made a telescopic bar in 3DS Max.  It's not actually "telescopic", it's just 3 tubes the left and right of which are inside the centre tube.  I imported this into Daz:

iRay render of Telescopic Bar

What I want to do is somehow rig it such that I get an "extend" control in "Actor", so I can extend or retract the left and right components of the bar.  This is a learning excercise for me and I'm not sure where to start googling, what the right terminology is to use and so on, to make this happen.  Presumably I need to give it bones first (correct?) but after that how do I create limits, make a slider to control it and so on?

I used this tutorial to make a bone hierarchy.  I can see each bone has Scale and Twist, Bend, Side-Side properties (none of which I want for these).  I'm not sure how I go about making the left and right edge tubes moveable on the X axis only.

Ah, there you go.  Thanks Dark.
