DAZ Studio 4.9 fatal error

After years of being able to use various versions of DAZ Studio, today the app just stopped working. The fatal error message below is one that I have never before seen.
Any suggestions about how to repair this? I tried downloading the latest version at https://www.daz3d.com/get_studio but that would not install using the DAZ Install Manager that has always worked before.

I had to uninstall the app first and then re-download and re-install the app as if for the first time. That fixed the problem tonight.
What security software are you using? Some people have been having issues, including issues like yours, for a week or so.
McAfee LiveSafe is what's installed on this computer. Is that particular security software what others are using who are experiencing the same problem? Today I find that DAZ3D will not connect to the Postgre SQL CMS database, which it has routinely been connecting to previously.
McAfee does seem to have been the software in use with quite a few systems that are having trouble over the last week or so, it does seem to be a false positive (presumably) triggering them. You obviously don't want to run without security software, so it's hard to know what to suggest until McAfee or Daz solve the issue.
What (if any) changes has DAZ made in the past few days/weeks that may have affected the online connection to the Postgre SQL CMS database? I did not change any of my security settings.
That could well be McAfee too - the firewall component. Whether the changes are on the daz side, triggering a latent sensitivity in mcAfee, or in an update to McAfee I don't know. (Not that every issue has been with McAfee-using systems, but it does seem to be more common than the other occasional problem suite.)
I dentified the problem: The most recent update of McAfee LiveSafe. There seems to be some "new" incompatibility with McAfee and DAZ Studio. I believe that it is better to keep DAZ Studio and go ahead and dump the McAfee security app for something else that works better. McAfee is not the only security app that you can use so why put up with this hassle?
The trouble is that, in their efforts to catch as-yet-unidentified malware, all security applications can cause issues. Kaspersky had aspell of deleting one of the Iray files, causing purple renders, and while I've never had a clash between Norton and DS I did have to fight Norton for every download of an Allegorithmic update.
FWIW, I run MalwareBytes premium. And even then, I've white-listed/excluded several directories preemptively: C:\bits-32, C:\bits-64 (where DIM installs software downloaded from DAZ - should never be compromised unless DAZ site is compromised), F:\dim-download (where DIM stores downloaded files) and E:\s4stuff (parent directory for all DIM content installs).
I think I might be having a similar problem as WGoulart. I just tried downloading an update tonight for DAZ Studio 4.9. It failed to install and then when I tried to reboot the computer and open the install manager again I got the following error messages. I hope this doesn't mean that I have to uninstall everything and start from scratch again! Please advise. As with him, I'm running a Dell with McAfee and its a brand new machine.
Thanks
Your existing content won't, as far as I know, be affected but the DIM issue does look familiar; try reinstalling DIM, then mark its parts as safe (however McAfee does that).
Nice to find a thread on the issue I have been having as well. I am using Bitdefender myself but the program keeps locking up on me before I can get anything done. Install and reinstall doesn't help
That doesn't sound like the same issue. Do you have the Look at My Hair Catalyser plug-in?
An update is being worked on, but you don't need to uninstall - just uncheck/check in Help>About Installed Plug-ins and restart DS to change its state. There is a thread here https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/188806/released-lamh2iray-catalyzer-1-3-update-available-commercial#latest
Here is my thread on the subject: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/190576/daz-studio-4-9-64bit-does-not-start-have-to-uninstall-reinstall#latest
Just thought I would post this update to anyone who was curious, I uninstalled DAZ install manager then reinstalled it and the DAZ Studio update as I was trying to do before everything started. This time the update finished installing properly and all my content was fine. So thanks Richard and those others who posted comments. It was nice to see everything work out ok.
