Got a REALLY dumb question ... what are aniblocks and why would I want them?

Is it only for animators or also useful for posing in general?

You don't if you'r not going for animation. It'sl like little parts of movement ready prepared for putting together in an animation ;)

    Hi
aniblocks are containers of stored Character motion data that can be edited
together seamlessly, like film clips, to create longer more complex animations

This animation was made with three different aniblocks to create this longer sequence

OK ... So if I'm not an animation person, but maybe want a till scene pose somewhere between one pose and other, would antiblocks help me to do that?

  • Yes.

OK, great ... Knowing that I've NEVER animated anything except dynamic clothing, how does one use an antiblock set. There is a freebie for the cats that if I'm understanding right, would offer me a whole new range of poses than what I already have. But I have no idea how to go about using it.

It's pretty easy. You can step frame by frame after you've loaded an AniBlock for the pose you want.

the only issue is unless you own animate2 you cannot save those poses as it cannot be baked to the timeline, you just end up with a tpose.

Aniblocks are for motion building , They are ony good if your into animating with daz studio other wise.  not much use for them for still art rendering

Thanks for the info, everyone. I won't bother getting it since it looks like it would be useless for what I do.
