Another newbie question about ds4

I downloaded and installed ds4 for 32 bit. I have a 64 bit machine. I opted for the 32 simply because my ds3 was 32 bit. If I am seeing a crash for memory issues, should I opt for 64 bit? It would seem obvious but what's wierd is that the memory usage for the scenes where there can be a problem is max 1500 MB. I used to never have a problem until the rendering got up near 3000 mb. Even in ds4 I have had some crashes. I did a windows diagnostics on memory and it said everything is fine.

Although I don't know about your specific crash scenario, I would definitely encourage you to use the 64-bit version of DS to reduce overall crashes. (You might want to research any plugins you have, I can't remember if there were any that didn't work in the 64-bit version or not, but something's kicking around in the back of my mind about that.)
Yes. Also, only 64 bit has Iray (though only 32 bit has LipSync - the 64 bit version will play animations generated by LipSync in the 32 bit version - so you may need both installed at some point).
Can I have both installed, 32 and 64?
My computer has an intel core I7 with 2.4ghz and 8mb of RAM.and I know I have an Nvidia video card (geoforce 920M) and an INtel card.
I keep wondering if the issue is my computer because even ds4 is giving crashing when I try to render, saying there is a memory issue. With DS3 it just suddenly wouldn't allow more than a few characters in a scene. If I had 2 I was ok (but now not even that), and then if I tried to move them the whole thing would freeze up (not responding). With DS4 it seems to work better, and thankfully I can now load my ds3 scenes, but if I keep getting render crashes, I am not sure what the point is. Or the problem.
Yes, you can have both versions of DS installed. They share settings, including layout, so where there are differences (LipSync/Iray available or not) you may need to do a quick adjustment when moving between them.
