Shadow catcher - Solved

Looking to use shadow catcher for compositing in After Effects.

I created a ground plane beneath my character and assigned shadow catcher as lighting model - but when I render the png series, I just see a black background.  If I add a Shadow pass in the MultiPass render settings, I see shadow on the ground plane plus extra partially shadowed figure.  how do I set things up so I just get the shadows on the ground plane?

Thanks

  • Had searched earlier without finding what I needed - but just came across 3dAge's response to similiar problem in another thread - and realize I need to check the images outside of Carrara (where shadow catcher is working fine).  Inside of Carrara just shows black in the image aside from the visible figure even if you have an additional plane with a different color beneath the shadow catcher and are rendering png with alpha.  inside photoshop looks fine, however.
