Hexagon Issue

Not sure if this is the correct place, but I couldn't find anywhere else that seemed more appropriate.
I am fairly new to Hexagon 2.5 and I wanted to make a basic 3D sign using the text function in Hex. I created the sign to my liking, exported to .obj and then when I import into Daz, the lettering is completely wrong looking. For example, the C's look like O's T's almost look like V's. I'm sure it's something that I'm doing wrong, but I'm not quite sure what. When I tried the simple "send to Daz" button, nothing happens. It's almost as if the points are not exporting correctly. Any ideas?

It's because the face of each letter is a single polygon, and DS doesn't like polygons with multiple vertices and especially not polygons which are concave (if you put a piece of elastic around the outside of the vertices it bridges across some gaps, like the inside of your C). You need to split the faces down, in Hexagon or using the Edit>Object>Geometry>Triangulate command in DS.
Yeah, I tried both after you suggested them, doesn't do anything. Still having the issue. My Hex kept crashing the first dozen times or so that I was exporting it. I feel like it's something wrong with the export process because during certain exports, it's not even completing the whole project, only a couple of letters will export. It's unfortunate, because this is the only reason I even purchased Hex and now it doesn't even work correctly. They should really have a support center or something.
Is it still set as dynamic geometry in Hexagon?
Not sure, I'm still pretty new to Hex and haven't completely figured out the interface yet. How would I do that?
I can't recall - I think there's a lightning bolt icon to click, but I may be misremembering.
I found it. It was set to restricted DG, I tried Full DG and it's still doing the same thing. I got this program from Daz's website, I'm surprised there is not better synchronization between the two programs. It's almost as if they are not meant to work together.

Try collapsing the Dynamic Geoemtry entirely. If that still doesn't work, please upload a sample Hexagin file and it's OBJ export - I do have hexagon, though it isn't currently installed.
I don't have hexagon on this computer so I can't be all that precise but here's how I'd handle it, from memory: Under the dynamic geometry tab there (on the lower right) there is an icon to collapes the DG. I think it's a lighning bolt. click it and the object will no longer have it (you'll be able to tell it worked because the item won't show up in the DG tab anymore when it's selected). Use the Select -> more than 4 faces drop down and use the Triangulate n-gons command in of the drop downs.
There is a hexagon area in this forum, at the bottom of the furums main page. If what I suggested isn't useful, the gurus are there.
I don't see any sort of icon like a lightning bolt, there is one to enable smoothing, but that is it. I click it and nothing happens. That seems to be the case with most things in this program. I'm beginning to think something is wrong here. The program has been crashing like crazy lately and I can't seem to get anything done in it. I'm about two seconds away from asking for my money back. I know they won't give it to me because it's software, but this is really dissappointing and very frustrating. There should be better compatability amongst these two programs that are advertised this closely. Even the whole interface is different. All the shortcuts, the zooming and panning. I really expected much less of a learning curve because I've been using Daz for awhile.
If there's no collapse icon then you probably don't have any dynamic geoemtry to collapse.
If you purchased within the last 30 days you cana sk for a refund - its being software doesn't affect that.
Hexagon is old software that is neglected. I always loved it once I got used to the UI (watched a ton of free videos to lear the nuances, it's not "obvious" especially if you're new to modeling but compared to other programs it's actually pretty quick to pick up IMHO). However because it's neglected it has famously had issues with crashing and that's frustrated many, myself included. I still use it, personally, but I save often and try my best not to smash my PC when it crashes.
There are some tips on configs to enhance stability in the Hexagon sub-forum if you care to search but random crashes still seem to happen. If you have extreme instability issues I would not assume they'll just go away, if I were you. Like I said, there is a Hexagon sub-forum here at DAZ and if you are on the fence, might be worth popping in there and posting a thread with your questions and getting feedback, might help you make your mind up to keep or return the software.
Thanks guys. I'll try the sub forum a little bit. I'm kind of already at the point that I've given up on it. I don't expect any of the issues to go away, especially if they seem to be neglecting the software. I guess I just figured being use to Daz, it would be a much simpler transition than it was. Thanks for the input and attempts to help. I think I may have to explore other options.
