Grouping Objects Creates Permanent Crosshairs Visible In renders

Hi. Daz Newbie here.
I've worked out how to group objects to move them simultaneously. This creates a crosshair which appears in my renders. Might be wrong, but I'm guessing this is a null.
I can't select it to delete it. As there's no ungroup option I can find, I've tried unparenting objects from each other but the null's still there. What can I do to get rid of the damn thing?
I know there's something about emitter visibilty you can use to hide lights. Can't seem to find an equivalent for this problem.
Any ideas, folks?
Cheers.

How are you rendering? Neither 3Delight nor Iray should show the avatar for the group node. You can remove the items from the group and delete the node, but then of course they won't be grouped any more.
