Extreme instability with Studio 4.9.4.122 in Mac OD Sierra

Constant crashes. There have been at least six today.

iMac 27" OS Sierra 10.12.6

Crash log pdf is attached.

Studio has always been unstable for me. I have two iMacs and crashes are somewhat common on both machines but this level of instability is far greater than normal.

From the log it seems you have a geforce card and it seems a opengl issue so I guess it's the drivers. I also guess you already updated the drivers to the latest version since it's the first thing to do when working with graphics. Since it's opengl you can try to disable advanced features in the OpenGL preferences (edit > preferences > interface), to see if things get better.

Also you may try to use the integrated intel hd for the interface and leave the geforce for rendering. On a laptop pc you do it with the run menu. On a desktop pc you do it by wiring the monitor cable. Sorry I don't know if/how you can do it on a mac. Hope this helps.

I am also under OS Sierra 10.12.6 and Studio 4.9.4.122 with absolutely no crash at all when working, only sometimes when quitting Studio.

Try to reinstall your OS. Restart, at the same time, press command R until reinstallation. Afterwards update with the App store.

    Sincerely,

If there's a way to manually update drivers in Mac OS, I'm unfamiliar with it. I know this is possible in Windows but in Mac OS, this is done automatically when an OS update is available. When I've gone to Nvidia to look for driver updates, under their Mac OS options, those drivers are only available from Apple and only available as part of a complete OS update. I have the most recent Sierra version installed.

    Sincerely,

I've done a couple of OS reinstalls to deal with a separate issue. The Studio instability persists. It was a problem before the OS reinstall and remains so after.
