How to prevent Expression "Stacking"

Hopefully I'll explain this right so I can get some help with this..

I've been creating expression "poses" (saving as Pose Presets) using JUST a mixture of the standard Daz expression dials (Afraid, Confident, Contempt, etc)

My end results all look great and all, BUT if I apply 1 and then apply another the results "Stack" on top of each other.

IE:  Applying my "Coy" and then if I don't first "reset" or "Zero Out" the head and apply say my "Gleeful" pose preset the dials called for "Gleeful" just drop on top of the ones from "Coy"

Is there a way around this?  or is this something that's just common and THAT'S why we utilize "Reset Expression" / "Zero Expression" presets?

I've looked at the coding of MANY "non stacking" expression sets that appear to also be using basic expression dials to create their look and there seems to be no diff between what's in those duf files and my own,  I do also have expression packs from 3rd parties that DO stack like mine are doing so I'm just totally lost here.

When I save expression presets, I save all of the expression parameter dial settings, including the 0 value expression parameter dial settings, by selecting <figure>/Pose Controls/Head/Expressions.  When the preset is applied, it will zero out any pre-existing dialed in expression parameter settings.
