can allow me to hide objects in viewport, BUT stay visible in renders?

    You can do it the other way about, but I haven't heard of the way you want it.

    It may be able to be done with a script, there is a thread with a list of available scripts, I'll see if I can find a link.

    Which application? This is the wrong forum for questions, if we know what you are using we may be able to offer workarounds - and I can move this to a better location.
