Poses and expressions from G3 to G8 ?

Hi all,

I love the work Z does on poses and expressions, so with the promos I got 2 sets for G3 and 1 for G8 (https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files/prod/37713, https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files/prod/44439 and https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files/prod/37117). But apparently they aren't compatible with the other generation ! Is there any way to make tem compatble without buying an add-on ? If not I think I'll have to give back the G3 stuff and get something else for G8 (and not be able to use those on Vic7 :)... crying

    There is a free pose converter that works well for G3F & G3M to G8F & G8M

    just use the V7 pose on G8 and run the script

    Ok, that's good thanks. But for what I wanted it looks like I'd need this :

    And does that include expressions or just poses ?

    As far as I know the G8 Pose Converter will not transfer expressions - I have not got it as I found the free script was good enough for my needs right now as it corrects the pose, obviously unlike the paid script it does not save all the files for reuse but for the most part I don't need them saved - Pose converter here is a very good product which I wish listed, I just need to save money for the things I want more right now  - :)

    Somewhere on the forum a user made a script to transfer some expressions , I can't find the link right now but will post it when I do -  The link you added for your poses goes to your product library so I don't know what they are  to test any with the free script so at least you would see what you would get

    There is a fair bit of difference between the expression capability between G8F and G3F, with G8F being noticably better/more flexible. The Puppeteer Powerpose templates are very helpful as well.

    That's great, thanks. A few questions :

    - Where should I install that ?

    - Does it also do the reverse (G8 to G3) ?

    And yes, I'll gladly take the expressions script too when you find it. smiley

    Hopefully this will help & not confuse,  I maybe over explain as I would rather tell you what you already know than leave you wondering :)

    For the G3 - G8 Pose script

    Drag the 3 .dsa files from the zip into your content library SCRIPTS folder - Note - You will need to use a non connect library (The one Daz auto places on C Drive)

    Once you have done that load Daz & go to Scripts to find them - I created a custom Action for these so they are on my Toolbar & easy to find when I want them.

    Incase you don't know how to do this, just right click on all icons & go to create a custom action  - It then appears in the dropdown on your toolbar under scripts

    You can adapt the script to correct G8 poses used on G3 by opening up the .dsa file with notepad & changing all - (Minus) values to + (Plus) & vice versa then resave as a .dsa with a new name.

    The expressions script is in this thread, its a few posts in but you will want to read the information before using it
