Sandals!

How come it'so difficult to find flat sandals and flip flops that you would actually see a woman wearing in public? If it wasn't for DM's Elatha Sandals and a handful of other products I feel like it would be impossible for me to render a public scene with believable summer footwear. It seems like 90% of the sandals available fall under the historical or fantasy categories.

I have yet to find sandals like these, but they're so common in real life!

I found a free 3d model of the first pair online, but they fit horribly on Victoria 8 with just scale controls. I guess it might be time for me to learn how to edit models!

Summer renders are here again and I still haven't had much luck finding pairs like in my original post. Have you given any more thought to making them? (Not sure if you can tag people on this forum but @Cherubit)

I definitely have a few pairs in my runtime - but I'm in the middle of a long render and can't look to see where they're from.

Don't be afraid to use items from older generations. Footwear is notoriously difficult to autofit, but you should be able to parent these to the character's toes (you'll need to separate left and right into distinct objects first).

Thanks! Looks like the straps/soles on that pair are a little wider/thicker than I would like.

I'm still waiting for some nice sandals for G8M. AFAIK there's only one pair here at Daz; it's in the Monk set.

Here's a pair that I've used. They're for V4, but they're implemented as two objects, rather than a single conforming figure. That means you can parent them to the toes of most figures and have them work.

I've made these in Hexagon, but still need to UV map them and make into actual props/conformers.  Any interest in these?

Well, I've got the T-Straps UV Mapped, and saved as a "wearable;" however, they don't want to stay on the feet, and don't follow any poses.  So, for now, G8F is disappointed, as she wants to rock these new sandals, but can't go to the beach, as the sand is too hot and burns her feet.  Any idea on how to get shoes to fit and stay on G8F?

Well, good news!  I finally got the sandals to fit and conform to G8F, and other G8F-based characters.  Aurore is happy that she has some sweet sandals to wear to the beach.  Although I have simple colors for the materials, I do plan to make some additional textures soon.

Just making my yearly plea for more flip flops/flat sandals. I love the reccomendations everyone has made, but I'm still looking for pairs more along the lines of the original pictures I posted.

I have some I made in blender. they're not rigged but they fit if you parent them on gen8. I need to touch them up, Then I'll post them somewhere for free in a few days if time allows.

StratDragon, your sandals look excellent! 

esha‘s Patchwork sandals are wonderful, but they don't include flipflops. Amyaimei at Deviant Art has beautiful flipflops, called ‘Rainbow Sandals‘; they are free and worth trying.
