Duds in Smart Content lists

Hi, I am finding a LOT of dud files (ie they just aren't there) in my Smart Content folders. They are listed, but I get an image as attached, and if I try to double click it says the item is not there. But clearly the item IS there, and nowhere does it show that it needs downloading again. Any suggestions please? TIA.

That is, presumably, from a database-driven view (Smart Content pane, or Categories or Products in the Content Library pane). It may indicate that the folder to which the product was isntalled is not, in fact, set as a content diectory in DS. Do you know where (or if) the file is located on your system?
Hi Richard, there are a LOT of them, and going through them all to find where they actually are (HOW?) would be enormous. It's true I moved my DAZ program and the library folder to a new computer but it's doing it with stuff newly installed too, so that shouldn't be the problem with those, unless the settings in the items themselves are looking at a specific folder (eg the default C Drive folder), when they are installed onto my G drive
For instance, Michael 8 ...!! Just installed two days ago... attached see Chara Centaur, Female Centaur, Kori Centaur - missing. Installed just a couple of weeks ago.
How did you install? If you pick just one of the missing files and do an OS search for it, where is it (if it's found at all)?
I installed through the IM .... along with a bunch of other stuff that does show up. IM does all my installations other than those inside DAZ on the installation tab. All are pointed at my content folder on G drive.
I have just done an OS search for "Michael 8.duf" - it said nothing found. I then did a file search on all drives using my PowerDesk - found it in "G:\DAZ CONTENT\People\Genesis 8 Male\Characters\Michael 8.duf" - right where it should be. So something in DAZ is not seeing it even though it's there?
So G:\DAZ CONTENT\ is set as a Daz Studio content directory? Had you, in the past, isntalled that product via Connect (within Smart Content or the Install pane)?
Nope. Only through IM.
Sorry, I don't know what the issue could be then.
The most important thing is to check the install paths and make sure it is listed inside DAZ Studio. I only use the Install Manager exclusively. Then, I do a 'Scan known directories for files', from the Content Library options menu.
Thanks Richard. Garrett, the install paths are correct; the files are listed in the program but not accessible, though they are where they are linked. Triede the scan but no luck ... thanks; don't know how to use the ones not accessible!
I guess I will have to try Support... Thanks guys!
I've had problems in the past with file permissions on disks imported from one Windows on one PC to another Windows on another PC. Caused a lot of problems with accessing and copying files etc..
Since that I've always started with blank disks on a new system, and then copied the files over to these from the old system. That has always worked fine.
Can't tell if that's your problem but who knows.
Thanks but no, that's not it - I started with clean disks. Sigh! Might have to uninstall and then reinstall ...
