Luxus (the plugin) is updated to 1.0.0.4
Luxus 1.0.0.4 is updated and available in your accounts.
Here is what this fixes:
* Gamma - Colors are now properly linearized. This is important, everyone is encouraged to update and to click on Reset To Default at the bottom of Render Settings.
* Depth of Field values are now passed into LuxRender and work.
* Accidental resuming when overwriting is fixed
* Autotranslation of UberSurface tweaked in regards to the Gamma changes and to favor subsurface color.
* Transmap issues improved
* Extra Command Line for passing command line arguements to LuxRender. This allows advanced control of number of threads and even theoretically master/slave rendering control.
* IES lights files belong on the area light(in the material light section) and work.

Thanks for the update, and continuing support :)
Thank you very much!!!
I lost track of the other thread because there are so many different topics.
Since this is an update information I put two requests for further updates here:
Add missing paramters to use the "Surface Integrator: Exphotonmap"
Have there any clues been found about the "missing" paramters that would be needed to use the Surface Integrator Exphotonmap?
The basis idea of the Exphotonmap Surface integrator is that in a first pass a specific number of photons is sent out.
In the second pass the areas where photons sucessfully landed will get more attention.
To put it different the main difference to the other surface integrators is that with the help of the map the whole process is not anymore that random but can be more tweaked towards constant results. This is especially needed for animations.
For that reason on the lux wiki it is recommended to use the Exphotonmap Surface Integrator for animations.
At first glance it seems that even in the official lux render wiki not all paramters are documented.
Nevertheless on the special page for the "Exphotonmap" Surface Integrator they are all listed:
http://www.luxrender.net/wiki/Intro_to_ExPhotonMap
Direct photons
Indirect photons
Caustic photons
Radiance photons
Number of Photons Used/Max Photon Distance
etc

As the Luxus plugin is setup at the moment without specifing specific values in most cases the first pass in which the map is created fails because there are not enough photons sent out by default. The default value luxus uses seems to be 200´000 for some reason. For most cases at least 1´000´000 photos are needed to create a map.
Without a proper map being created in the first pass in the second pass the quality will in most cases be to low to be of any use.

Update Interface of Luxus Render settings tab so that only the Paramters of the selected Surface Integrator are shown
There are some paramters that are used by all surface integrators.
Other paramters are specific to individual surface integrators.
Especially for new users but for conveniance also for everyone it would be much easier and faster to adjust the render settings if only those paramters are shown that are actually used by the selected values.
If a specific surface integrator is shown all paramters specific to other surface integrators could be hidden.
The less information is shown at a given time the easier it becomes to
a) find what one is looking for
b) understanding what paramters are used by which surface integrators

Any way. I guess this is all much easier said than actually done. I do very much enjoy the Luxus plugin so far and am happy with the results it yields for single images.
I hope the plugin is picked up by enough people that further updates can be made.
Thank you for all your efforts so far!
Thanks for the update, Spheric. Much appreciated.
