Heeled shoes for morphed G8F problem

Hi guys,

I am trying to make a heeled shoes for G8F. However i also want them to conform to morphed verson of it. I applied Thin, Weight and Height FBMs.

So i am trying it in this way:

1. Load G8F unmorphed

2. Pose the feet for high heeled shoes - by using the poses dials for Highheeled shoe and Toespread

3. open joint editor and memorize the curent JCM dials

4. then do Bake joint rotations (it zeroed the JCMs)

5. Restore the memorized JCM values

6. Export the G8F as Obj

7. Go to Blender and import G8F obj exported previously and then model the shoes around the feet

8. After finish modeling export the shoes as obj

9. Import the shoes into Daz Studio

10. Start Assets Editor pick G8F as source and my shoes as target and uncheck Fit to figure (it just convert prop to figure)

11. select G8F then the shoes and pick transfer rigging (figure space)

12. Then i fit the shoes to G8F. Here the shoes got deformed since some JCM apply. So i go and zero the shoes JCMs. In this way it fit perfectly with no deformations

So far so good. However here is the problems....

- When i bend the G8F Shin the shoes heel part get out of possition of the X direction so it not fit anymore. However i dont see any JCM sutable so to correct this. What i am doing wrong so to get this strange displacement?

- when i conform the shoes to my morphed version of G8F as i mentioned above (applied Thin, Weight and Height FBMs) the shoes autofollow doesnt work well and shoes get heavily deformed and again out of place (somehow twisted so toes doesnt fit and heels as well). How can i prevent this? Or can i do something to prevent at least that heavy deformation and then to make a correction morph for the displacement?

If someone can help i will appretiate it.

Thanks in advance.

Greetings.

  • The heel issue is probably a need to edit the weight maps.

Sounds reasonable. However how can i edit the weight maps? I tried the weight map editor and there i tried to do some weigth smoothing but it almost didnt change anything. After some level it didnt change anything at all.

And the heel is translated by x axis by significat ammount. is that can be corrected at all with weight maps?

  • It might help to post an iamge, I thought the distortions were from the heel not having a uniform weight across its length but apparently not.

yeah. right. here it is an example. it hapens to every shoes even refited one from G3F.

    look at the picture above.

  • I'm not sure what is happening there - is the heel inset into the edges of the sole? That could be weight maping, though it looks as if the current set up is pretty good (the heel isn't bending or shearing).

The issue nearer the front looks like an effect of the toe bones, but again I'm not sure what needs to be adjusted.

The heel is together with the sole. Just the material is transparent there (like a glass). But the whole part of the shoe untill the toes is moved on te left so the right part of the shoe start to intersect the feet. If the shin is not bend then the shoes fit perfectly. The more bending of the shin the more shoes intersect the feet since it is more moved to te left. I suspect it is something with the weight maps but i dont know what i need to fix.

  • Ah, I understand what you are describing now - though I'm not sure why it would happen. Rotation should not trasnlate, unless some strange ERC link has been made (which you can check from the Parameter Settings dialogue. opened by clicking the gear on the slider).

Yeah it could be. There is some ERCs attached to the shin bend. However how can i understand which is in use when the shin is bent?

  • Any sub-components of the Shin will be getting input when the shin bends, though if there are limits on the controlled property those may block the input from having an effect.

I tried to play with the rigging by moving some bones - tight Bend, Shin, foot, methatarsals of the shoe and now it doesnt cause a displaysment. Problem is whay transfer rigging works wrong?
