Any Plugin for a Crowd in DAZ Studio

Hi !
Any Plugin that can simulate a bigger crowd from a group of 2-3 characters and randomise the look etc. ?

Not a plug-in; but this will work quite well for what you want.

the 5 - 10 unit crowd does not work properly in my version of Studio 4.5 but the 50 unit crowd does. There seems to be an issue with geometries and I keep meaning to write the PA on what could be causing it.
Might just be me though, btw these are great for distance shots, but close up you can really see their 2D limitations.
Thank you for the link. This could be good for a general crowd.
Is there any script that can use our own Geometry / Characters and quickly convert to a Crowd with some randomisation ?
I wanted to create a random crowd of school students.
Nevertheless, thank you again for the tip.
This might be a good option, too: http://www.daz3d.com/send-in-the-clones-ds4

I had the DS3 version of Send in the Clones it was limiting with crowds because if you cloned an item, put it in a scene and adjusted a color or texture all the "clones" of that model would inherit those surface changes and there was no way to turn it off. Don't know if the new version addressed that.
One thing that did work for me is to create the figure, pose it, export it as an obj with surface maps collected then save it in a library. While it's a time consuming to do this you can create a library of low resource intensive extras for scenes over time.
The Pro version will allow you to change textures on the figure & even clothing. There is a caveat though. When cloning you are copying the geometry of the figure and clothing so to get a "crowd" will generate a LOT of geometry. Although DS4 has instancing; it cannot be used with different textures.
In DS4.5 Pro you can use the Create>New Geometry Shell which can have Different textures. It will keep the Ram use down, and give you more control of your textures. Using Instances and Geo Shells can create a nice group rather easily and fast.
This looks interesting. But Geo Shells only creates a new instances of the Geometry without clothing of the Character. Though it imitates all actions of the character.
Can we modify this new Geo Shell slightly ? Can we give new clothes ?
I am sorry. I could not find much references. Any link to a good tutorial ?
You can apply a different texture or shader to Geometry shell, and that's about it. You can adjust the push modifier on them (Parameters tab). So it would work best for second skin clothing. You apply shaders and texture presets to geometry Shells the usual way.
There used to be a plug-in called Life (for DS3, I think, I don't think it was ever updated to DS4, and I'm not sure if it was a plug-in or a script) which was useful for animating a single figure with periodic motions. There is a random morph dialer somewhere by 3Duniverse (one product for each figure I think)

I am sorry. I could not find much references. Any link to a good tutorial ?I Must admit I use Geo Shells for LoRenzo mostly. I can then re-texture it for different looks. The Lorenzo and Loretta sets are great for groups with Instances and Geo Shells.
Could you please explain Geo Shell use ( in plain english ) ? Particularly how it can have different set of clothing etc.
The Geo Shell can not have different Clothing when using Genesis. But a figure like Lorenzo that has the clothing built into the figure can have different textures on the clothing and figure. Geo Shells only copy the MESH of one object but has the different material zones of the mesh. That was why I suggested Lorenzo and Loretta. Even without Instances and Geo Shells making groups with the LowRez figures should work for you. Here is a image I did a bit back. Only the front figure is a High Rez figure (M4) all the rest are Lorenzo and Loretta's.

Does anyone have a good tutorial for Send in the Clones? The ones on YouTube are at lease two years old and for the prior version. It seems to have a lot of features and specific settings that need to be used before the product works right.
Thanks
The features and interface haven't changed from the previous version (at least for the Pro version); so anything in the videos is still relevant.
