Installing Studion on a new computer

Installing Studio on a new computer because the old one is showing signs of dying. Everything is backed up so hopefully no data loss, but reinstalling programs and getting them personalized is quite a task. Is there a relatively painless way to get Studio configured the way it was as far as which scripts are added to the top toolbar and the various layout of the tabs? Or is it just manually redo everything?

By the way, Windows 8 is really different! I haven't figured out how to log off, even.

Yes, I'm moving all of My Library over.

    Version 4.5.1.56 64-bit Windows.

If you have custom Categories set up, you should use Content DB Maintenance > Export User Data to save that with the rest of the metadata, so you can reimport it on the new machine.

Copy your AppData from C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4 and the folder DS is installed to (e.g. C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4) before you install DS on the new machine -- that should preserve your custom menus and layout, and some plugins.

Then install DS and set your content folders if they're not the default locations. Some plugins will need to be installed; you can either just install them all or only install them if they aren't working as is.

Thank you, that worked like a charm! The only problem I had was that the AppData path was hidden, and until I realized that I had not checked "show hidden files" I was baffled. I think I am almost back in business.
