Light meter or Luxmeter

Would it be possible to have the equivalent of a light meter usable in Iray, the small hand held device photographer use in studios. I find it very hard to get a good exposure (specially without a dual GTX1080ti machine)

You make a spot light then you move a prop in the scene, hiding it,  which need to move the spot light then you have to guess the Lumen increase or decrease you have to apply.

With a 3 point lights scene it's very complicated

    If you are in nVidia Iray preview mode then a +/- icon appears to the left of the preview mode button, at top-right of the viewport. Click that then click on an area that should be mid-exposure.

    Just as a folllow up :

    I now have 2 nvidia 2080tx cards in my computer,the Iray preview is acceptable but it's still soooo slow !

    However fast the GPU is the data still has to be prepped and transferred - for a preview that is going to be a noticeable delay.
