Rigging updates for shoes and clothes

Yet again a new figure comes out snd choes and clothes for the previous version do not work properly on it. I know there are fixes that work on some of these, but not all. It would be nice of designers would futureproof their items and offer upgrades/new rigging fixes for items, even if for as price. The data, materials etc are all fine, the rigging is not. It is annoying that sellers take money for items (especially shoes) that become obsolete when a new figure comes out and do not offer upgrades to people who have boght those items recently. Maybe Daz could ask venders on its site to offer upgrades for items that are overtaken by a new figure within a year of release at the least. I for one would be willing to pay $5 to have shoes worth $15 useable.

  • The problem is that if they had to do that for every clothing product they've ever made, they wouldn't have time to make new products.

Of course, but selling a refit for the most recent items should be relatively easy; far easier than a new product as it is already made

When V4 was release there was no such thing as autofit and you have to manually add any special shapes to clothing to get things to fit other than default and only for the figure it was made for. We are soooo spoiled with the tech we have now for the newer figures and DS and considering it is all just 3D mesh it's mindboggling that works as well as it does.

Partly true, but even with autofit there are times when a body specific shape is included in an item; how do you think folks find out about upcoming figures for the various versions of Genesis?
