The new forum... same as the old forum?

I'll admit I've complained a lot about the differences between the old DAZ site and the new one, covering the range from minor annoyances to failures so complete, profound and ridiculous I'm amazed the whole thing wasn't scrapped, but one of the things I did like was the relative stability of the new forums.

Tonight I looked up my usual bunch of new threads, and it was pretty much a toss-up whether I'd get my next pageful of the hundred-odd live topics for today, or "no matches to the search". Annoying, and more than a bit off-putting.

(There is also a sluggish page display issue, and more CloudFlare 504 errors, but I'm assuming that's due to the massive worldwide DDOS that's been making the news the last couple of days.)

Anyone else seeing this, or is it something the forums have put on just for my "benefit"...? :-S

Over here, this side of the pond some of us have been having problems for a few days now. We are assuming that it does indeed have something to do with this DDoS against Spamhaus, as Cloudflare are trying to support them against the DDoS, and of course DAZ 3D does use cloudflare as a caching service.

This morning it started off better than it has been for a couple of days, but has got steadily worse all day. Presumably the morons who are making this attack have upped their attempts because it is the weekend.

editing to add and of course I got a Cloudflare error trying to post this answer, Lets ee if it will go if I try a 2nd time. :coolsmirk:

Yes, that time it took, but then I have had to have a 2nd go at adding the edit.

Heh, yes, I've already had three attempts to post to the forums tonight held up by the "have you logged in?" page after a 10-20 second delay. The pattern of glitches does suggest it's all down to the DDOS, we'll just have to hope it gets stepped on — preferably with nice big spiky boots — before too long.
