Need help with creating .fc2 expressions that wont override custom V4 characters.

Hi all,

Im trying to create some custom expressions. Ive had some success using the Poser Format Exporter in DS 4.5 Pro. However, im experiencing some trouble where characterINJ .pz2's are concerned.

Ive tried using different settings in the PFE but the results seem to be the same. In order to capture general transforms (Bend, Twist, etc.) I need to use the option Numeric(valueParm) setting. To get the morphs I use the Morphs(targetGeom) setting. Creating a .fc2 without these settings results in an incomplete face .fc2 (no eye movement, etc).

The result that continues to haunt me is that after I load a V4.2++, apply a custom character INJ .pz2 and then apply my custom .fc2, the face is reset from the custom INJ back to the base V4.2 face. I can only gather that this is a result of the Morphs(targetGeom) option.

Id like to create expressions that can be applied generally to any custom character.

Please help,

HBS

I believe what you're talking about doing is replacing the expression morph targets themselves?

You need to open the FC2 in a text editor and delete all of the dial settings you don't want affecting the figure.

In the editor you should see something similar to the attached image, notice the section I've highlighted in gray, that section is for one dial, so you will have a section like that for each and every dial in the head, you will be deleting most of them.

Notice in the highlighted section the "k 0 0.2", that's the dial setting you see in the Parameters tab\shaping tab, your looking for all of the ones that just have "k 0 0" as that means the dial is at zero, which is what's resetting the morphs on you.

Do you need these to be usable in Poser? If not a native preset would serve you better as you can choose which properties to include.

    Thanks Bejaymac,

    Worked like a charm.
