DeviantArt has just debut Motion Books on their site... apparently, this is world exclusive on the web, otherwise only available to e-book users.
I'd never heard of them before. They're basically a digital comic, but with motion embedded in the pages.
If you've seen one, have you any plans of doing anything with this technology? Apparently, you've got the right tools to make the stuff...

I want to know more. What can anyone tell me?
Other than what's on that site, not a whole lot... it just looks fascinating to me!
Interesting,Smith Micro recently released the retail version Motion Artist that lets you make motion comics that are similar, but DeviantArt is using another tool to make these.
Will be interesting to see how both applications compare with each other.
This isn't exactly new. Variations using flash, etc., have been on the market for a number of years, and Smith Micro's been pushing MotionArtist since last summer, which let's you crank out one of these pretty quickly. Unfortunately you just missed the free beta stage, but the commercial version is here:

That said, the real exciting work in the motion comics format is in what's being done with QR codes, which can now be done with any graphic image. If you haven't seen Brian Habberlin's Anomaly, you need to go take a look at the future of the graphic novel. That's a printed, full color hardbound book that incorporates a full soundtrack, pop up notes and animation using an Android or Iphone ap, that's also available as an e-book. The story's not bad, but the technology is amazing.

Oh, and it's also entirely done using Poser and Daz figures, plus photoshop, so this is totally the place to talk about it.
Video webinar that Smith Micro did on Anomaly if your interested in learning how Poser was used.

Also, Motion Artist works with Poser.
Like Cybersox13 this isn't exactly new, but you are seeing a push in motion comics now as the software to do one is becoming more accessible and affordable.
