What's happened to the Daz Weekly Freebie? :ohh:
I keep seeing things being advertised as FREE in the news letters and things like Hot Promotions >
shows this http://www.daz3d.com/technopolis/ as being free...but when you click on the actual product...it's not?
:red: What's going on?

1. Are you logged in?
2. Are you a PC member?
That is the PC members only monthly freebie the weekly freebie this week is http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/diner-food-3 and nothing has happened to the weekly freebie it never stopped. :)
I haven't been a PC member in awhile, yet i was getting weekly items that were no change not to long ago (CD player was the last thing I remember getting).
They changed the weekly freebie a few weeks back to only be free if you purchase something else at the same time. Unless you are a PC member, in which case it's free even without having something else in your cart at the same time.
Logged in: Check!
PC Member: Was...not any more...shucks! ;-P
Gee, really Daz? The Weekly Freebie was like the worm on the hook, it's gets the customer to browse and spot stuff they'd buy along with the Freebie. Forcing people to buy something first so they get a Freebie is more likely to make people say, oh I can do without and wander by. That's basic common sense.
You should probably stop advertising things for FREE which aren't...as that is false advertising. You could label them as SPECIALS to let folks know they can get them for free with a purchase or if they are PC members.
OR even better, you could reverse this terrible decision and become COOL again. :-)
Si  < hopeful ain't I...sheeh!
Long discussions about that here:

Chime in and let your voice be heard through the zendesk support as "general feedback". The more of us that say it out loud through their customer service, the more likely it will be heard and acted on (maybe a snowball's chance in heck, but at least we tried).
As far as Technopolis being free, it's says on the Hot Promotions page, Technopolis is free if you buy one of the three featured Sci-Fi releases: Magno Strider, 10T Mech, or Dystopian Coriolis. If you cart one of the three new releases and cart Technopolis, you should see a -$6.99 on the discount line above the total.
Have done! They won't get away with this by gum...

So basically I HAVE to buy something I DON'T want/need, to get something that I actually think is kinda cool. Which everyone else is getting for free because they either want the items that make it discounted or are PC members. How is that even remotely fair, considering the item in question would have probably been the Weekly Freebie only a month ago.

Technopolis is the monthly Platinum Club freebie, a new and extra freebie that started a few months ago. Being able to get it at all without being a PC member is unusual. That has nothing to do with the change in policy for the weekly freebie.

As has been pointed out Technopolis is the PC monthly freebie I actiually find it iunfair that as I'm PAYING to be in the PC that others who arn't paying are getting it for free as well. The PC monthly freebie was brought in to offset some of the things that were lost to the PC, its one of the perks of being in the PC - join the PC and you can get it for free too.
It's not free if you're paying a subscription fee for it.
Whatever the BS reasons for taking the Weekly Freebie away...it's still a scummy thing to do. >:(
"PC exclusive freebie" means that if you have a PC subscription it is free for you - it is listed as one of the bonuses of said subscription. If it doesn't fit somebody's definition of "free" it is fine with me - I'm paying a fee to receive one such product free of charge every month, and I classify it therefore as "PC freebie".
But even usual freebies aren't, strictly speaking, totally free. You still have to pay for the traffic you spend to download it, for the hard drive to store it, for blank DVDs if you wish to backup it.
As I've mentioned here before, the word DAZ3D is looking for is "bonus".
(They're paying a lot of money to keep this forum running; I expect they have somebody on staff reading it, just like every other company with a forum does.)
