can genesis be used in daz studio 3?

I was looking at Victoria 5 and it said the compatibility was "DAZ Studio 4.5, DAZ Studio"

How would you use a genesis figure in anything other than D 4.5?

You can not. Only DS4 and above support the new Weight Mapped Genesis figure.

Had that feeling. They should update the V5 page.

    Thank you!

I'm still considering trying d4.5 again. I really didin't like it at all, so I'm holding out a bit until I see some genesis items I just can't live without.

Hmm good question. If they sold a 1940's Navy Wave uniform for Vic 5 AND Navy whites for Mike --I'd take the plunge out of sheer necessity.

Truthfully, if they could just roll back the interface to daz studio 3 I'd gladly do it. I opted for DS over poser because of the clean, simple, menu and interface. Now its cobbled up gobbledygook ><</p>

You can customize the DS4 interface. Mine is very similar to my DS3 interface:

yeah I tried that. I still had to do a dance to make a genesis m4. Trying what seemed like one way resulted in a mish mash of textures on his body. I had to figure out how to do it some other way. The dark grey interface is so annoying; I really like simplicity and no frills. Its what made me favor photoshop over its competitors back in the day. Sort of like poser; I dont want to decipher pictograms of puppets and arrows lol. I dunno, maybe I need to give it one more try, although I seem to recall it recommending that I uninstall daz 3 first and that's a no-no for me. Has that changed? Also, I hate to say it, but the m5 and genesis male products just have not grabbed me at all. I know most folks go gaga over victoria but im a michael user. If m5 and male gen characters blew me away Id just have to use it -so far they havent.

Truthfully, I was SO happy with ds3, and participated in the beta for the last version of it. I really felt like they had just gotten it down to a science and we just wanted some new features and capabilities and instead got a (Im gonna sound so old now) newfangled, gobbldygooked, flibberty jibberted remake. I just wanted 2 new bells and a whistle. Geez ;p

In short, its a personal preference thing, no offense to all who love it.
