Not sure why the emails go out when stuff isn't working the sale... all the links say website offline... you can refresh several times and someetimes the page will show up, but without a price or add to cart....
I see that there's FINALLY (WOOT!!!) a new version of PD ... PD artist 8.2!!!
AWESOME..... I love this program. Very much!
I have PD Pro 6 or 7, can't remember off the top of my head... 6 I think. Wonder if there's an upgrade option or if I still should buy it directly from the site of PD?

yeah getting "This website is offline" A LOT. Not sure what's up.
I looked at that program btw and it looks awesome... but it didnt have a purchase button! Maybe a symptom of the same website issue?
The new build of PD Pro 8.2 Howler is going to be out soon.
The Artist edition was getting a good bit of work done on it recently.

I think we're working on having an upgrade offer here through DAZ. STay tuned or contact them in a few days.
Also, indeed we've been working like crazy on fixing a few things and adding more features, and better support for Monoprice tablets too. For example there will be a gradient grabber tool, in an upcoming update. If you order PD Artist 8.2 here at Daz you'll have 8.2c, currently the latest, but soon we'll have an 8.2d release. Simply contact us at thebest3d.com to request the update if you've ordered 8.2 here at DAZ.
A list of what's new in 8.0, 8.1, 8.2, 8.2b and 8.2c as well as coming soon in 8.2d can be found mentioned in the newsletters at www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/newsletter
Thanks for waffling!

Ok just to see... PD pro 8 and PD Artist 8 are listed as teh same thing right?
And the Daz price is already awesome.....
I just bought PD pro before Christmas so i SHOULDN'T get this
But darn it, it's such a lovely program. :) How will I ever resist?? (Hint: I probably won't) ;)
I think PD Artist is the same as PD Pro but without any of the animation tools.
Over the years I've gotten PD Particles (twice) and now am on my second PD Artist. Someday maybe I'll get Pro but since I don't animate I don't really see the need because everything I want to paint with is in PD Artist.
PD pro is not the version with animation, that would be PD Howler. That's the All-In-Bells-n-whistles-animation-tools included.
From what I read on the website, PD Pro and PD Artist are the same thing.
I also love particles. I got a much much older of PD pro and particles in fastgrab a long time ago and loved it!
PD Pro comes in two flavors, or two editions. The Howler edition is the one that has everything, the Artist edition is the one that doesn't have animation (with the exception for animated brushes from image sequences or avi file).
We also call them PD Pro Howler and PD Pro Artist, respectively.
To be precise, PD Pro is sort of the core base with everything. Up to version 5 there was only one edition available, simply called PD Pro. Since version 6, the PD Pro code is available in two released editions: the Howler edition which has everything from PD Pro, and the Artist edition which has a subset of PD Pro, i.e. the same for painting, but no animation/video tools.
For example, you can use the 3D Designer in PD Artist to create a 3D landscape rendering but you can't fly through it. You can fly through it with Howler.
Another example: you can load an avi file into the custom animbrush both in the ARtist and the Howler edition, but while in ARtist you can only paint it over the current static image, with Howler you can hold the ALT key down and it will paint it into the current animation if there is one. You can paint with video on video. You can also paint particles across the frames of a video (creating animated fireworks with the particle brushes, animated smoke trails, or animated tree growth with the new Foliage brushes introduced in v8.0
Since version 7.2 there's also a Motion Prediction Module (doing motion estimation to calculate tween frames for slowing down an animation). If you're into extreme computational challenges, read this: Motion Prediction Mania: http://www.thebest3d.com/howler/7/motion-prediction-mania.html
