need help locating sci fi prop

edited December 1969 in The Commons

There is a scene pack somewhere in the sci fi section in which the main feature is a big transparent sphere or bubble. Forgot the purpose or function. Not much detail but maybe someone could at least get me to the pertinent section for that.

Just found that and I think it's something else tho along those lines. That thing is cool but it appears there's too many requisites . Not sure why it would need a monster figure as base - but I suppose that is for the dynamic action. Thanks

The reason it "requires" the War Eagle is that it has poses and MATS for the War Eagle. The transparent bubble can be used by itself.

Similar to Creation Machine is Flipmode's Planetarium. Still, the initial request is pretty vague...

That's a close match (but in the original the sphere was more oblate) . The only thing missing is the follow up enhancement pack. So somehow, that is it but not. Could be another artist's version.

Are you saying, Val, that the Entire pack can be used without the war eagle? I've an older version of Studio so that may be the real issue.

What sucks there is last time I tried to upgrade Studio - due to it's tie in with Bryce perhaps - it screwed up both. I had to delete the new version and revert back just get both to run in synch. Something like that as that was years back. I think installed objects weren't loading or something.

Looks like the Epic Sci Fi kit is for both Studio and Bryce. Anyone know if it's ok in older Studio versions?

I'm, doing something kinda hard which is telling a story with very little character involvement. I've actually so far used a "frozen" Mike "dynamically" by cam manipulation alone.

Bryce 7 pro works quite seamlessly with DS 4.5 now.

    Could it be this?

Very similar to the Creation Machine.

If all you want is a transparent bubble, you can use a sphere primitive. Any recollection what the rest of the scene was like?

I've Bryce 6 and have used it more than any other program for it's simplicity. Has it limits of course - and I wish (others too) they would include a modeler. Rather it would be awesome if they allowed plug ins for all that it lacks.
I only use Studio in order to get objects Into Bryce!

So do you know if The Epic Sci Fi Collection kit would work with an old version of Studio and Bryce 6? Again, I only need Studio in order to import certain objects into Bryce that it won't take directly.

I also have Cararra 8 which I never use. Was here many moons ago asking if they had a frigging hard copy manual. Not back then. Do they now? I mean one of those Manuals that walk you through stuff as I don't really like those that come with the program. I don't like the interface of it too bad for me as I'm likely missing out.

No that's not it. It's Essentially like the Creation Machine.

    Thanks for the replies.

You wouldn't be thinking of this by any chance http://www.daz3d.com/the-machine

BTW If you pop over and speak to Horo in the Bryce forum, he can tell you which version of Bryce works best with which version od DS.

That epic Sci Fi kit says it comes with OBJ and Bryce format files, so you should be able to take it straight into Bryce

By the description, it sounds like he's describing the RDL-7 prop, but that doesnt seem to be in the store anymore, so that cant be it.
But promo pics of the product are attached just in case.

That's it! Shows you how long ago I saw that. Who's the artist or can the DAZ team (re)order this? Thanks!

Im actually curious why its not in the store anymore, because as I recall, this was a Daz3D Platinum Club item. I would contact Daz3D Support to inquire why it is not available anymore and what can be done to get back into the store.

    Good Luck!

Looks pretty cool. And it was even a PC item? A pity it is not in store any longer.

There were some other good suggestions you can look into. Like the Creation Machine mentioned previously.
