Best tool for creating snowy landscapes?

Is there any good tool for creating a snowy scen. I saw the DA Let it snow on mega fast grab but I am not sure if it has gotten to old?

Thanks in advance.

Let It Snow is 3DL and IRay, so still useful.  I also have Iray Snow, Ice, and Ash but it's no longer in the store.

Thanks. Looking at a few renders on the forum DA Let it snow looks a bit cartonish, maybe it possible to use another shader with it.

The first render in this thread looks pretty decent. YMMV comparing forum renders; a lot of people are not interested in realism.

Depends on the scene. There are actual snowy landscapes in the store or with a seamless snow texture you can create one yourself. Let it snow is great for adding snow to objects also. Here are a few I have done using various resources in Iray with little to no postwork

These use Let It Snow on an Infinito terrain and rendered in Iray.

There are some 2D billboards, which could be tricky since the shadows won't be valid and you might have to fiddle with the edges, but are still worth experimenting with: https://www.daz3d.com/rdna-winterlands-vol-1 , https://www.daz3d.com/rdna-winterlands-vol-2 , https://www.daz3d.com/rdna-winterlands-vol-3 .

Flink has a wide variety of fantastic winter products over at Renderosity, also over there is coflek-gnorg's "Let it snow" which has some tracks in the snow including the snow angel (similar name but unrelated to either https://www.daz3d.com/let-it-snow-ds-shader or https://www.daz3d.com/da-let-it-snow ).

(don't recall if I used these or not in the pic): https://www.daz3d.com/rpc-volume-2-winterland-trees , https://www.daz3d.com/blowin-in-the-wind-tool

Not used in the picture below but there are also some other winter products: https://www.daz3d.com/winter-snow , https://www.daz3d.com/ground-shaders-for-daz-studio , https://www.daz3d.com/frost-for-tertius (requires Tertius as a base product I assume), others I forget.

I'm happy to report, it's in the store again. Daz brought it back in December, (2017,) I think. The read me page shows the first date it was out, from 2016, so I'm only guessing.

The "Snow System" will give you falling snow like the first Bryce image @Chohole shared above, but there is so much more to the product than just that. There are four Iray shaders: two for snow, with different displacement, one for snow and ice, and one for just ice. There are several props including a pile of snow and some trees. I created an entire field of snow using one shader on the water plane of Secluded Shoreline! (Image links to larger version and opens in a new window.)

    Narnia set without falling snow

I used the Iray snow product with Secluded Shoreline and some other props to create a winter "Narnia" as the background for an image of Mr. Tumnus, the faun from the Chronicles of Narnia. Here's the final image. Notice all that falling snow in the background? That's from the Snow System. I used the shaders on the rocks, and on the existing snow of the tree and bush. (I used them on the cliffs, too, but I not "out-of-the-box".) Snow in front of the faun is postwork, using Ron's Magical Snow photoshop brushes. (Links to the gallery page and opens in a new window.)

I also have DA Let It Snow. When I tried to use it, I quickly got overwhelmed, but that was close to two years ago. I've learned a great deal about DS since then. I really should give it a workout, see how the two products compare.
