D-Forming/Morph Hair? Any drawbacks to this?
The quandary of hair without needing to go outside DAZ, and other objects, had me wondering if these new found morphs could be used with a thin cylinder to create a shaft, or stretched to become a tuft, of hair, curled around, twisted and material added. It worked. If I wanted to give it split ends, it looks doable.
The question I have is how much memory overhead am I adding if say each tuft has eight or nine morphs, considering it might require fifty locks of hair? Has this been tried before and failed miserably? If so, why did it fail?
Other than that: How do I find the jpg's to use for bumpmaps or is there some pane I'm not seeing somehow (imagine that...) that is causing me the pain of not being able apply materials or create them?

If you need that much control for hair switch to one of the particle projection dynamic hair systems.
For instance?
I imagine it's a lot like cloth? I've seen what is there so far. It appears to be morphable to accommodate the change in genesis' poses. To make my own hair, I imagine I'll need to go to Blender or get Hex?
Yes, to do it by hand. I have the LAMH (Look at my Hair) plugin and it can save out to Object format. I do not know about the other as I do not have it. You would still need to add morphs.

I looked at both. Which does more?
There is a comparison thread:
