daz 4.5 the old story - lost files that aren`t lost but daz can`t found them

the old story, just loaded an older scene with a v4 figure and files were missed and the v4 figure has lost morphs and shapes. After closing the scene without saving and loading the latest scene the v4 figure in this scene has lost morphs and shapes.

daz I have really enough of this and I don`t like genesis until you have correct and working genitals for both male and female and I mean correct and working not just this genital crease for example and not just the outer shape. Are we living in a non sexual world or what?

I think about leaving daz and turning over to poser

    and here is the result:

and do not come with, send a bug report or what ever. We have talked about that for while and the only answer I`ll got was:

It is not a software problem.

if not a software problem, why does this error never appear in daz studio 3??????????? only in daz studio 4.5 no matter what version

this scene worked. after closing it and loading an older scene also with a v4 character this new loaded scene doesn`t work, after closing down this new loaded scene without saving or anything else and loading the first scene that worked before this was the result:

so now two scenes do not work. GREAT SOFTWARE.

I can fix this problem with injecting the morphs new. and close the scene without saving. If I load the scene then a second time the v4 figure works well. if this is not a software issue I don`t know.

Have you checked the last bit of the LOG File to see why DS is not finding the Morphs?

I use not the original v4 but a figure looking like v4 open for basemorphs, morphs++ and elite, so I have injected them manuell and saved the v4 figure as a scene, that is Dixie as you now her. In DS3 there never was a problem to inject then other characters and save them as new scenes and load them all into one an work with them. In DS4.5 it is a problem, you can have this character to work with or another, but not to different at the same time, even they are saved as two different scenes.

you load scene 1 with figure A and all is okay. after doing some stuff (rendering) you close the scene.

you load scene 2 with figure B and the result: figure B works not correctly. you close the scene.

you load scene 1 again and the result: figure A works not correctly. you inject all morphs new and close the scene without saving, open it again and surprise, everything is okay.

okay, you want to work with figure B in scene 2. you load this scene and you inject all morphs new, close the scene and load it again then this figure works well. but next time you want to work with figure A in scene 1 this figure will not work correctly until you do the stuff written above.

you can work with scene 1 figure A or scene 2 figure B but both...no. (I mean not working with both scene at the same time)

but if you have one working the other will not work.

daz said it must have something to do with the figure I use but that can`t be because all informations, pathnames, filenames and so on used in a scene are saved in the daz file not in a file of a figure so it must have something to do with the software.

It has to be assumed that something is wrong with the morphs set here. I've used both Gen4 and Genesis figures in Daz Studio and never come across this problem. It's possible the CR2 you used to load the figure in has an error. Have you tried reinstalling the Victoria 4 character and morphs++ pack?

There are genitals for both male and female as part of the pro packs and the Victoria/Michael 5 bundle.

I use not the original v4 but the wwg2 figure and have to inject the morphs (base,++,elite) in ds3 I never had this problems no matter how many different characters or scenes with characters in it I had. right now I also have no problem in ds3 using the same content, so it is and must be a ds4 issue

    once again:

the figure is the wwg2 figure I have in my content, the morphs I inject are from my content and it is the same content with the same pathes in ds3 and in ds4 but with ds3 I never had and actually have such problems like I have with ds4.

so it can`t be the content, it can`t be the figure and it can`t be filepathes or anything else because in ds3 it works.

Try this, Load any of your Scene Files that will load the full figure. Now DELETE every thing except the figure and all the working Morphs. Select the figure and then do this in DS4.5
    Save As >Character Preset
then pick this Character from the save location and load it to a NEW clean work space.

Please try this and let me know it this works or not.

Sounds like the morph channels from the different V4 CR2's are getting in each others way, in DS4 all Poser figures are converted to mimic how Genesis works, so when you save it, all of the morphs are saved out as morph assets into that figures "Morphs" folder in the "data/auto_adapted" folder, so while Genesis only has one set of morphs in it's "Morphs" folder, a Poser figure can have two sets, one for all of the empty channels and the other for all of the full channel, and it sounds like DS is trying to load both sets.

thaaaaaaank you very very much. You are the first here in the forum and also the first ever (even the people from daz didn`t do it) who explains how ds4.5 works and now I know why that "error" appears (by the way that "one folder for all" issue I was thinking also).

I think it has something to do with this "one folder for all" issue. Because if you save a scene with the basefigure wwg2 that has character A and then you load the same base figure wwg2 into a new scene and inject all morphs (base,++,elite) and you save this as a new scene with character B I guess during saving the assets from character A will be overwritten (the morphs(channels)) because if you load the scene with character A new lots of files can`t be found and a lot of channels are "empty" but only the morphs are not there, the values are the correct values for this character and that is the reason why this character will work again after injecting the morphs new.
