I too have quite a few different programs. I bet no one can guess which one I use the most out of all the ones I have

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, could it be.................Bryce LOL

I really liked Bryce, especially the lighting, i just hated the render times.

Nyah, Chohle's a hardcore closet-Vistapro user-- Vistapro then, now & FOREVAH!! %-P I hear you on that Bryce rendertime! Good luck to Phil. Learning a new UI can be pretty challenging. I'm still having my issues with ALL the programs I'm playing with. I'm mostly good with Poser & Bryce--& after RayDream was discontinued, Carrara gave me serious ulcers for the longest time until I guess I finally developed "muscle memory" for the finer camera & position motions. I'm still trying with DS. And Blender. And Zygote. I can see where folks would develop their own preferences, but I can never see why anyone would get upset for someone else having a preference for a program they, themselves, are having difficulties--the vitriol that sometimes errupts between Poser & DS users can so downright viscious, you'd think they were dicussing politics! Hell, the nastiest political discussions I've had in a BB I used to participate in never got as nasty as a Poser-vs-DS spat will get here. All that should matter to anyone is the final rendered output (& touchups, if that's your thing, too). It shouldn't matter if someone used Max, Vue, Poser, Silicon Graphics if you can afford THAT monster, so long as you're satisfied with the results!

I'm finding iconic shapes (both 3rd and 4th generation) to be one of the most used things in DS4 for me because it allows Autofit to fit older items to Genesis with it.

You don't need the fourth generation shapes to use AutoFit for fourth generation clothing.

Is it so for A4 and Freak 4? Those are also iconic shapes.

A4 and F4 don't have clothes - since they were morphs for V4 and M4 respectively their clothes are just morphs in V4 or M4 clothing, which converts with the base AutoFit.

Not really true. Some vendors provided clothes only for A4 default shape, for example, as detrimental as it was. And Iconic Shapes do add Aiko 4/Freak 4/Hiro 4 and Girl 4 Autofit templates, however useful they are. I have them. And in cases of that dress they are even useful even if I'm aware that I can do shape reverse for Genesis. But probably shape reverse for those morphs is also opened up with Iconic Shapes.

I can't recall if there were clone shapes for the other Gen 4 shapes in the base content, but I think you are right to say not. So yes, for the items that shipped with an actual A4 or whatever shape as the base those are needed.
