Rigging Original Figures in DS4 Pro

I'll tell you one thing, try and leave your hair as LOW poly as possible!! Let DAZ Studio subdivide it. You'll be much happier and morphs will be easier to make.

Do you know how to use the Transfer Utility? It's under Edit/Object/Transfer Utility

When you modelled it, did you do this on the Genesis base figure or did you model it on another, like Victoria 5?

When using the Transfer utility, if you had a morph applied to Genesis when you modelled around it you need to select that morph in the Source Shape list, then in More Options you need to check Reverse Source Shape from target.

But Genesis is not zeroed - you have a female morph applied and you need to tell the Transfer utility to reverse that..

Fairy, go to the advanced options in the Transfer Utility, and make SURE that the SECOND FROM THE LAST option is checked: it's Reverse Source something... basically it tells the Transfer Util that you modelled it on a morph, and you want to bring that morph back to Genesis during transfer. This is what happens when that box is not checked. And also, make sure that you have the Basic Female applied and "Current" is the option you have in the basic settup.

Is the hair correctly positioned when you import the OBJ, or do you adjust it before running the Transfer Utility?

i have to adjust it could tht be the reason why

Yes. Hide everything but the hair after adjusting, export as OBJ, and then import that OBJ to run Transfer utility on (with the Reverse Source shape still, since it's being fitted to the morphed figure)

Save it as a figure asset - File>Save as>support Asset>Figure or Prop Asset.

That may be the effect of DS generating a morph to match the figure (assuming you have gone back to your female figure). It doesn't remember the original shape, but creates a new auto-generated morph instead. What you can do is use the OBJ you rigged as a morph, instead of the auto-morph (as long as your figure is a single morph - if it's built up of several morphs then things get more complex, though with some sacrifice of flexibility it should be possible to work around the problem). You need to fish out the relevant bits, but post 1 heer http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/253999/ shows how to get the name of the morph, post 3 http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/254562/ shows how to replace an auto-morph with a custom morph and post 6 http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/254604/ shows how to save the morph (if it fixes or usefully reduces the problem).
