Grouping or Organizing a Scene?

Hello. I am creating a scene that will, ultimately, have several riders on horses with weapons. As I keep adding items into the scene, the scene list gets longer and longer. And I sometimes have to reposition several items at once (i.e. a horse with a rider and a weapon). Is there a way to create a 'folder' to place several items in so that I can move several items at once by just selecting that folder? Yeah, I know I can parent the rider to the horse, but I am just curious about cleaning up the Scene tree a bit if possible.

for the scene you could create a null and parent all the items into the null (dragging them in the scene tab) even parent items that are parents themselves or parent Nulls inside Nulls, they don't show up in renders
you can name the null whatever you want, just keep in mind the more you pack in a null the slower it will behave when you try to move or scale it.
Null01
.Ground
.Hills
.Null02
...Rider figure
......Riders Sword
...Horse
.......Horse Armor
...........Horse Helmet
etc.
to create a Null go to Create and choose New Null...
Select the items and go to Create>New Group.
Groups work a lot better than Nulls for this. You can toggle the visibility of a group and it properly handles all the sub-nodes. Nulls won't do that. Toggling off figures that are already complete in the scene can be handy for speeding up the viewport, or getting them out of the way so you can properly view another figure while you tweak it.
