Mountain Lion

So, with Carrara 8.5 due out any month now, Apple announces a new version of OS X. The official version of Carrara (8.1, not the beta which is time-limited) doesn't yet support the previous OS X.

Will this mean an extra year of waiting for Mountain Lion compatibility?

No one knows (unless DAZ have done some pre-testing against the developer release of Mountain Lion).

However, the descriptions of Mountain Lion that we've had so far made it sound as if it will involve fewer far-reaching 'under the hood' changes than Lion, so I think there's a good chance that if DAZ get Carrara to play nice with Lion, it will work with Mountain Lion too.
