Initial position of a new figure/prop

Hello,

I'm sure there was a thread about this question a while ago, but I'm not able to find it again, so please apologize to ask again.

If I place a new prop/figure in a large scene this new items is always placed at the "standard zero point". It seems to make no difference if I doubleclick on the prop in the content tab or if I drag&drop; it to the scene. The problem is that this could be far away from the visible area.

What's the best way to bring a figure/prop into the visible area of a scene?

If you hold the ALT key and drag the item from the content window you'll get a placement cursor allowing to put it wherever you please.
