Is there a way to import a BVH file as a figure rig into D|S? It's telling me I have to have a figure in order to import...

A BVH file is for animation and movement, not a figure in itself. If you bought the file from a website, I'd suggest checking there were no figure files that came with it.
Did you have a Figure selected in your Viewport when you loaded the BVH? It must apply to a figure to load. Like a pose file must apply to a selected figure.
No, the file is from Mixamo.com I converted an FBX file from there to both BVH and OBJ. The DAE files crash DAZ Studio, so I can't import that way. I do KNOW that a BVH file is a skeleton. I've seen it used before to build a rig, but that was many years ago...
Ahh, I see what you're trying to do. Re-reading the first post it makes a bit more sense now. So, you have your figure and want to use the BVH data to rig the skeleton for that OBJ to create a figure. I wouldn't even know how to start with something like that I'm afraid. As far as I'm aware, Daz Studio will only import BVH files to use on an already rigged figure. It may be possible to do with some workarounds, but in truth I don't have the first clue where to begin.
Back in the early 2000s there was software that would do that, and for the life of me I can't remember what it was called. I had a version of it.
Is it just me, or is the DAE (collada) import filter in D|S broken?
I was trying to import this figure: http://www.mixamo.com/editor/new/729?character_id=49
I know it's possible to do using 3D Studio Max, but that probably isn't very helpful to you. It might be possible in Blender, but I've never tried and couldn't find any tutorials on the subject.
I'm trying to get this guy rigged into DS with his original rig... :(
Tiz Dffcalt...
fbx import is the only way to go.
problem it still not works momently.
import = mesh kill.
FBX import? Where do we get an FBX import filter for D|S? I thought only export was available.
just at the menu File >> import fbx (but, test it out about almost a year ago with motionbuilder... it's not working)
