Why don`t Daz sell Anatomical Elements as a stand alone.

Why don`t Daz sell Anatomical Elements as a stand alone.

There have been many discussions on this subject along the years.

One of the reasons usually stated was that selling them as standalone could cause the store to be considered as "adult oriented" which may change lots of things for Daz (including relations to payment operators like paypal).

The more obvious answer is going to be that it would likely massively cut into sales of their optional 'pro' bundles for whichever Victoria/Michael set comes out first for the newer generation.

I honestly don't feel that there would be a legal necessity to push the entire store to be labelled as adult if they did it, any more than phsyical art stores need to be if they happen to sell artistic manuals which spefically deal in nudes.

If they honestly believe that, for some odd reason, then they could just as easily do a compromise of an 'anatomical bundle', which includes the primary figure and the anatomical extras, without needing to pay the excessive amount for all the other poses and clothing.

Personally, I think they should do that for at least Victoria/Michael, along with the basic additional face/body shaping morphs. That's all the stuff you really need to be able to have basic all-around use for art. I would absolutely buy that on day one! Instead, I have to wait for the pro ones to have a steep 70% or so discount, before I can even consider them... Which, in turn, is bad business practice for Daz, since it means I'm prevented, as a potential customer, from purchasing any of the other products which have Victoria and Michael as requirements for use.

Sure, I could get Victoria and Michael as basic figures, but I want to at least have the option for nudes if I ever need them. So, have to wait for the pro options to discount.

I'm not sure Daz has ever offered the "adult store" explanation, but if it is a reason the concern would be the way the payment companies handled it, not some legal code. Another factor may be content filters - Daz is already tagged for "underwear and swimsuits" or the like on some lists, and consequently blocked in some places - there may well be a concern that making the anatomical elements more readily available would increase the number of places from which the site was inaccessible.

  • I do have the Anatomical Elements for V6/M6 as I bought the pro bundles sometime ago, but I got to buy the pro bundles again for G3/G8 which is a bit of a pain and on the wallet.

To tell you the truth I have rarely used them, only G2F and never used G2M,Anatomical Elements, as there is a difference between naked art and porn.

But I often wondered if the Anatomical Elements sold at renderotica are the same as the ones in the pro bundles.

    They are not.

Though I believe there are morph sets for the Daz anatomical elements there too, so if you are thinking of buying check the required products list.

I'm not sure DAZ has ever offered any official explanation, TBH ;)

This is just one explanation I remember seeing quite often along the years.

    Doubtful.

Why assume that the only reason people are buying the Pro bundle is to get the anatomical elements. My best guess is that DAZ sees the bundle as the best value of released content for those that want to get it all at one time, and they simply toss in the elements as a bonus. They also offer the various items except for those as individual items for those that may not be interested in the figure they're released with but like the outfits or poses.

    Your choice.

It may also have to do with Daz3D being based out of Utah...
    https://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title76/Chapter10/76-10-S1206.html

These would also explain why the forums and gallery are strict no nudity zones.

no, we don't allow nudity because there are no filters to tag the image for those who don't want to see it and children who may be browsing.
