making and saving characters

I am new to animation and am getting it ok. But, I can't seem to create the character I want and save them for use in different scenes. As a story teller and director I need to have my actors dressed and ready to be on set when I need them. How do I do that here?

    You should save as a Scene or Scene Subset, and you can then merge these saved scenes into any other scenes.

    Use Save As > Scene (or Scene Subset if you you only want part of the Scene)

    I always save Character Presets before saving a Scene Subset. I can't remember why. But there's a good reason, I swear, and I know it has to do with how D|S organizes morphs...

    That said, all my characters end up saved as Scene Subsets.
